Oh yes I used to get sick on airplanes. Upper respiratory infection whenever I fly. Way before the pandemic my Dr told me to clean/sanitize my area and put bacitracin or A&D ointment in my nostrils or wear a mask. When I get off the airplane I would clean My nostrils with tissue or a wet wipe. Trust me I’ve never been sick 😷 when traveling since. Oh I’ve made the mistake a few times forgetting to clean/sanitize my area and I’ve gotten sick so now I don’t forget. Even for a 2 hour flight.

Bose headphones changed my flying life! If you are a nervous flyer do yourself a favor and get a pair. I will have to check out the AirFly since it is the only essential I don't have in my carry-on bag 😊

I also make an inflight amenity kit: socks, pen/notepad, eye mask, iPad mini or Kindle Paperwhite, gum, earbuds, comb, tiny toothpaste-coated toothbrush, essential medications, drivers license or passport if it is an international flight, tiny powerful power bank/cord, earplugs, chapstick, Clorox wipes in a baggie. I add or subtract items depending on the length of the flight. And don’t forget the pen. And I have a bag that will hold it all, and it rides with me in the seat back pocket.

I carry a “blanket in a bag”. Microfiber, so very light weight, doesn’t take up much space. Also makes a good pillow.

I bought the Airfly so I can use an old iPod with a Bluetooth speaker. Works great! My son also uses it in his older car that doesn’t have Bluetooth.

I was on a flight to South Africa years ago, and we had to make an emergency landing in a country that didn't look too kindly on foreign travellers. We couldn't disembark and the pilots were forced to cut all power. We were stuck on the plane for close to 10 hours. The crew couldn't provide meals only beverages. I'll never get on a plane again without something to eat. Especially long haul flights.

If you couldn’t get off the plane….etc….where do you think the food was going to come from? I spent 16 hours on a flight and we missed customs by a few minutes. They knew we were there but didn’t care until one of our crew had a international phone and called America to tell them our situation. We would pull a rabbit out of a hat to not be in a situation like that. And your crew were unprofessional…..we can always find something for people to munch on…just not the hot food you wanted. And besides do you think the pilots want to be sitting in a locked cockpit?

@@akneemoose3383 I give the crew the benefit of the doubt. It was an extreme situation & we (crew included) were feeling the stress. The plane was surrounded by military vehicles, guns, & tanks aimed & ready to fire. Plus a deceased person onboard. It was pretty insane. There was a lot going on & they did the best they could. In no way were we expecting anything except maybe water if thats all they could manage. I learnt to be a little better prepared on flights is all.

Flew to Vegas recently and we were seated with extra leg space near the exit doors. It was FREEZING cold. I could not feel my feet and ankles even though I was wearing socks and sneakers. I was so pleased to have a blanket with me to wrap around my legs and ankles.

I always pack gum or better yet ginger gum or ginger chews. I tend to get air sick if I don’t sit by the window or if I look out the front of private planes (I’m pretty sure it’s the curved glass that makes me nauseous.🤢) I’m inspired to fill a small backpack for impromptu flights so I’m not scrambling last minute! It's been quite some time since I've flown. The Best flights are International flights....I brought plenty of snacks with me and My Own blanket and pillow. I never seen a whole family move so fast than when after spraying down my area, I asked mom would she like to have a spray, everyone jumped up.🤣😂🤣 I loved how well I could freshen up before landing. Doll, you've brought back many good memories....I wonder what ever happen to my mini pac-man game?🤔🌷🌼🌷

Ordered the airfly pro and I have the GORGEOUS gray Sony earphones and individually wrapped wipes in my cart lol. I’m definitely that person that travels with a bags of snacks. One bag for the trip there in my personal bag and one in my carryon or checked bag for the trip back!!!! Been doing that for years!

Great suggestions. Definitely looking into the Bluetooth adopter. I usually fly with a sweater and/or scarf but a washable shawl makes more sense. I also always travel with like 4-6 protein bars, a banana and water with electrolytes. I’ve also been told/ suggested to take a travel Lysol spray to spray down shoes after a trip!

I love that you are like I am and still like to look nice on a plane. I love a good road trip to see all of the things, but I also know that it is a privilege to have the convenience to fly. Our regional airport has flights to DFW and as of February, to HTX, so I usually opt for the first flight out. I can't sleep because I'm afraid to miss a flight, but it works out because i can wear something cute and look nice. I love comfy clothes, but its so nice to arrive and look nice like in the 50s and 60s. Even in your travel videos, I always find something I need to purchase for everyday use! I’m Australian and travelled A LOT growing up, because I was an ‘expat’ kid - we lived in Japan and Hong Kong for over a decade from when I was nine. I’ve been a germaphobe my entire life! I have disinfected my plane seat, tray table, headphones and dials for as long as I can remember… and strangers would always look at me weirdly at I performed my ‘travel ritual’. Mind you, by the time I was done cleaning (while simultaneously listing all of the things you could catch, as well as how often each airline cleaned their planes), they’d be asking for any spare wipes and sanitiser lol! My family loved to tease me about it, right up until the pandemic hit… haha I guess now I don’t look so paranoid :)

I always bring disinfectant wipes. On flights, day-trips and just have dem in my purse. Especially after having kids. You never know when you child suddenly says that he/she has to use the bathroom, and I always wipe down toiletseats and door-handles (before leaving the bathroom)…

I won’t travel anywhere long haul without some sort of disinfectant wipe now. There have been so many times I’ve gotten to my seat and there was some sort of questionable stain. A serious lifesaver!
