The SAME reason you dont change your own oil anymore... Is actually the SAME reason that no one knows how to build or cook anymore..... It's just easier to have SOMEONE ELSE DO IT FOR US...... Pretty crazy, honestly.

Cookbooks serve a purpose. If you buy a book from someone or entity known for specific cuisines or dishes then you are getting recipes of a known quality. There is a lot of garbage online.

@@sp123 I've used both. I used an online recipe for chocolate chip cookies and you had to go through 3 pages of instructions before they even gave you the measurements for the recipe. 😆 They came out well, but the second time I made them I used half the sugar.

The desired system outcomes are dichotomous and mutually exclusive between workers and capitalists, where the system outcome solution for workers, society, and sustainability, is socialism. Meanwhile, all the individual-based symptoms-based “solutions” in the world cannot overcome the overwhelming dysfunction of capitalism, including postpones the required transition to socialism.

Changing oil on my car takes only 5 minutes. No need to even jack up my car yes some car models it's pain in the neck, but for others it's piece of cake. So choose your cars for repairability, not for pizzaz. Unfortunately, with most modern cars, and especially EVs, DIY repairability is going the way of dodo birds

More evidence that the stock market does not reflect the strength of the actual economy. The stock market is just a place money is stored. The more money stored in it, the more the markets are worth. Eventually the big investors will find the next thing to store their money in (Chinese markets more than likely) and our stock market money will move there.

There is zero evidence to suggest the majority of the population cooks for themselves. Given the proliferation of ultra-processed foods and obesity, it leads me to believe it is you who is out of touch.

@@regbar0 “given the proliferation of ultra processed foods and obesity…” you can interpret that however you want but excuse me for saying that is not an argument that would convince me that young people dont know how to cook based on all the young people I come into contact with. Everyone has tried meal prep service, meal delivery kits, etc. They all are subpar and overpriced lack variety and it pushed many people to learn to cook on their own. Younger generation dont even have a gender role divide in terms of cooking like the older gen did. You can find a good amount of men cooking in addition to women cooking. This becomes even more pronounced when you see younger generation having kids. Cooking becomes an essential skill that younger people pick up asap when having kids. Let’s watch Eli’s startup that makes assumptions about young gen and see how it does.

@@regbar0 you actually were claiming that there isnt evidence that young people cook and then you pointed to proliferation of ultra processed foods and rise of obesity as your own supporting evidence to that claim. I dont mean to offend you, that just wasnt convincing. Actually Eli...cooking isn't just a profit saving win...it's also a time sink. If you're a tech professional making $40-60+ an hour, why isn't it ok to order a salmon over rice for $20 steaming hot to your door or should I burn an hour of my own personal time to prepare and cook the ingredients and then deal with dishes? When most get off the clock at 6 pm and sleep by 11 pm so they can be well rested for the next work day...that means we have a very short window to enjoy our actual lives. I am not burning 10-20% of my personal "free time" after work to cook a damn dinner. Sorry. Groceries sure do save money...if you want to also burn hours after work with cooking and dishes etc. For many Eli, it's simply better to order or visit a local deli for food.
