I'm so with you on the Kellan viewpoint. With MKM he felt just... so oddly out of place both in the story and with his card. At least in Thunder Junction he should make more sense thematically lol

My Urza, Prince of Kroog brawl deck is definitely more combo-oriented. Encroaching mycosynth + mirror box lets you copy anything and keep it. Gets crazy with token doublers because you can double your doublers (or triple with the Ixalan god). You can also make infinite mana with relic of legends.

Love this commander! My version goes wider and focuses less on the second ability. It's more like a late game option to refill or rebuild. Powerful commanders with restrictions are the best.

I think the issue with Kellan is that he hasn't even been around for half a year and we're getting our fourth version of him. Like, I think he's fine, but they're reeeeeeeeeally trying to make us look at him a lot. Plus they can't really decide on his color identity and abilities, it seems like these cards should all be different characters but Wizards just put Kellan's name and face on them all.

@@Amazonian As a general rule, I hate any combo deck that has the exact same play pattern every game, no matter what. They're just so antithetical to what EDH/commander is about, 99 card singleton is meant to give variance. I'm all for redundancy, but when redundancy leads to making a deck with a dozen different cards that largely do the same thing, I think the point of EDH/commander was missed.

It's sad that it's so rare to have Urza being completed as Planeswalker. They made his planes face very strong, but they fear so much to make him OP, they made him too difficult to assemble. He's supposed to be a legend and one of the most OP planes in the lore... but he's totally absent of the meta 😅
