Today, grandma and daughter will make ambarella fruit chutney, which is a delightful and very tasty dessert.
Ambarella (Spondias dulcis) is a tropical tree with edible fruit that is also known in various countries as hog plum, kedondong, buah long long, pomme cythere, june plum, mangotn, juplon, golden apple, jobo indio, and cajarana. The tree is believed to have originated in Southeast Asia. It is commonly grown in Sri Lanka, Malaysia, India, and a few African countries. Fruits of Ambarella can be found in clusters of up to a dozen.
