Thing is, the doctor NEVER said to eat only 700 calories, girlie has to put all on her fitness pal to get an idea of how many calories it will be and find an excuse to quit. For me, Americans and their way of approaching weightloss is very flawed. Also, she is notorious for going to multi marketing dietitians and not knowing how to count calories properly.

She deliberately goes from eating around 6,000 to 10,000 calories on average to the 900 to 1,200 calorie "fad diets" because it gives her an excuse to overeat. Going from feast to famine with ample food available is going to cause binges, period. She knows this. She knows she's not ready, willing, or even able to stick to 1,200 calories and be successful, so she sets herself up to fail. She claims to do all this deep dive research and knows everything and it's her perfect new plan...but then falls back on the "well my friends said" "well my doctor said" because it's all crap. And she knows it.

Coming from someone who's mommy died from cancer and had SOOO many surgeries, I took care of my mom from the time I was 11-25 when she died, I bathed her, took her potty, fed her, held her hair when vomiting, cleaning the house, everything. Including school, work and her Dr appointments and then kids, I never expected a thank you from my mom. I only wanted her to get better. I did it because I cared about her and her wellbeing, NOT because I wanted anything out of it. You don't do something nice for someone because you want something out of it. It's disgusting and wrong. And from what it sounds like, she didn't even give her the money cause she said the money I was GOING TO GIVE YOU. Which to me, means she infact gave her nothing. I remember going through it not having anything to try to get my mom better, if she did get money in that GoFundMe and infact didn't give her anything, that's effing gross, she's trash and should be boycotted. As someone whose witness my mother doing this her entire life, I can say it will absolutely influence the younger people around you. My mom has always been over weight and her obsession with dieting and food contributed 100% to my ED growing up. She flip flopped between so many fad diets and since she controlled my food (when I was younger) I got sucked into these fad diets too. I'm 29 and STILL recovering from that experience and still battling disordered eating because of that experience growing up. And my mom? She's STILL going from fad diet to fad diet. Losing and gaining. Losing and gaining. Twice now she's gotten down to below 200lbs, eating a normal healthy diet, then some fad comes around and she hops on that train. Get's discouraged she isn't loosing weight faster, stops the fad diet and then gain 50 lbs back. Now she's doing the KETO diet :/

The problem isn't so much with the diets itself but the mindset that goes into it.. Not saying fad diets are good, but some could help u get motivated. I personally, see the issue in people. They(i am included in this) start a diet thinking "I'll just eat like that for a month loose all the weight so i can eat junk again later". Instead of thinking about changing eating habits completely, long term. Amber is definitely one of thise cases, an extreme case too.. Thats why she needs professional help from a therapist..

Little bit of a correction to the info here. She didn’t make the gofundme, if I’m not mistaken she just promoted it. It was made in Normas husbands name and there were a lot of questions about insurance and why they needed the money when insurance was covering the cancer treatment. She was wanting praise for making a video for Norma for which she was going to give Norma all the add revenue for. However she broke terms of service by asking everyone to watch all the ads in the video so she would get more money and then she deleted the video. I’m far too deep into the ALR universe I’m a little ashamed about all the info I know about this random woman’s life. Not defending Amber or condoning anything, just trying to make sure people get the full picture.

After a traumatic event in my life I locked myself away in my house and went from a healthy weight to 480lbs in 2 years. I was ashamed and embarrassed and I yoyo dieted for a long time. I am currently 320 lbs and have been losing weight steadily for a long time now. It took me realizing that you do not have to eat less, you do not have to starve and you do not have to give up the tings you love. I eat big meals when I feel like it, I eat small meals when I feel like it. I skip breakfast if I want to. If I want to eat 1600 calories worth of pizza I do and I make up for it by eating well the days after. My nutritional coach said something that not only changed my life but saved it "drop the all in all out mentality. You did not gain weight in a day, you will not lose weight in a day. Your stomach is not on a magical 24 hour clock. Eat." She also said to me "if you give up the things you love or starve yourself to diet you will become angry and when we are angry we eat. Do not self sabotage." I suggest anyone who is struggling with weight loss or obesity and seriously wants to lose it get in touch with a nutritional coach. Mine changed my life.

My main problem with her "idea" of weight loss is that she will go on an extreme diet that is too unsustainable for her and then quit. Whenever she tries a calorie deficit it's only 1,600 cal and only healthy. For her she needs at least 2,000 calories and just to eat what she wants in moderation with a good amount of healthy food within.

I’ve been automatically labeled a “haydur” even though I was a supporter of her, bc I called her out on her toxic behavior. I don’t hate her at all just hate her behavior, Never once even fat shamed her, I got emotional when I found out she had cancer, I have even offered to get her freaking help at Mayo Clinic the top hospital in the nation I’m a patient their and the only usually accept extreme cases. But if your a patient and know a lot of the doctors you have a better chance of getting someone in. I was able to get a family friend who has cancer into Mayo Clinic. In regards to her dropping her dietritian: no sane professional would let you eat 700kcal a day. This is starving, not dieting. Either she's lying, doesn't know what 700kcal looks like, or this dietritian was a one huge scamfest endangering people's health

It’s actually ‘normal’ to do such a low calorie diet, when people are that obese. You see it all the time on My 600lb life, but the 600-800 calories are very specific, so the person still gets the nutrients they need! www.nhs.uk/live-well/healthy-weight/very-low-calorie-diets/ I have seen it mentioned as VLCD (Very Low Calorie Diet) and that is, as stated before, perfectly fine for someone that obese

@@MarshLikeMallow it needs to be incredibly closely monitored health professionals can do it bc they kno what they r doing but 980 is advised for ppl who are bed ridden when i think 700 calories i do not think monitored weight loss i think eating disorder trust me i have seen diaries and restrictive food posts and hospital beds its not healthy and shouldnt be promoted as healthy its like bordering on pro ana and especially to go from 6000 to 700 that would be impossible

If amberlynn reid was uncomfortable enough with her nutritionists diet that she didn't think she should continue, she should have found another nutritionist and/or a functional medicine doctor. I've always struggled with my weight, I'm also always struggled with IBS and general intestinal and stomach distress. I went to so many nutritionists who would give me a diet plan and tell me what to eat but when I followed that diet plan I would just get sicker because they never considered that dairy, gluten, and a few other foods couldn't make me sick. It took until I was 26 before I found a functional medicine doctor who is also a nutritionist and she changed my life! I went from vomiting for hours in the morning and sporadically throughout the day at least 4 days a week. Within a month of cutting out food that irritates my intestines, that all stopped.

1. A weight loss doctor will put you on a very restrictive diet so you "defat" your liver as most super morbidly obese /morbidly obese people's liver is very fatty. 2. The weight loss doctor also puts you on such a restricted diet to see is you are "compliant" Doctor wants to know that you will follow the guidelines to make the tool ( the surgery) work. If you gore right after that surgery? You can possibly tear the stiches and can die. Any weight loss surgeon who has a patient like her? Would never do the wls in good conscience. I have several close friends that had this surgery and they all had different doctors, one doctor put his patient on meal replacements like medifast to lose the required % of weight.

Sympathy for Becky's mom; I had a former friend do some similar stupid ish to me after I was in a life altering car crash. I was in a coma and most all of my friends and family came to visit including this girl who I'll call Jane. I was in hospitals for 4 moths after I woke up and for 6 months I got emails from Jane saying "If I only prayed hard enough" etc etc that I would be HEALED and walk again (I was paralyzed in the crash, still am). I told her I understood that she'd found religion and appreciated the thoughts and love but please stop telling me things that say it's my fault for not believing the same way you do that I'm paralyzed. Jane snapped. She sent me this scathing series of messages about "I had to LOOK at your messed up face in the hospital, you don't understand what it's like to be traumatized like that!" "It IS your fault for not believing in God the right way" and a lot of other...things. So I decided I didn't have the energy to deal with her and that was the end of it. Some people get weird when it's not all about them.
