Thank you. Honestly on any given day I can hit a wall with trying to do something. I have learned so much from others on KZbin that once I figured this issue out it only felt right to do a video on it.

Just got to sit down with it today and this is where I'm at right now getting my head around the time signatures for each layer and then the actual sequencer. Great piece of kit looking forward to getting to know it better. I think I may have to write out/score where I want tracks/patterns to come in to help visualise what's happening. Thanks for posting has this been a help.

No problem. I had and am still having the same issue. It is fun though.

picked this up on release, my first ambient unit and I'm finding it soooo much fun. Pretty easy to use but a lot of depth to discover. the online manual was pretty helpful too

This is a great tutorial. Thanks for putting it together! I think any instrument where you have lots of layers or intense reverb or long delays can really swing out of hand. Ambient 0 has some nice sounds in it, but I also get some really harsh metallic sounds when I try random things on it.

Thank you. I don't really make these kind of vids to much but I had problems learning this pattern length thing and thought I should share.

It is sensitive, but once I got it, it flowed. Tiny turns on those knobs. Lock the params. THANKS for this. It is a Fantastic piece of gear!

I'm getting more used to it every time I sit with it. I really like it also.

It is a lot of fun. You may want to pair it with something as I think it's best for long notes not so much melodies, but I really have dived to deep yet.

Very comprehensive tutorial. I ordered a Texture Lab. Hopefully I don't over write the installed patch's. How do you save a slot, so this doesn't happen. I have a 1010 music Lemon drop, and would like to sample onto the Texture Lab. love your channel brother !!!
@SoulSearchingGaijinАй бұрын
Check out the online manual on page 12-13. It is pretty easy to save patches but hard to describe without the unit in front of you. You have 8 banks of 16 patterns and factory presets are in bank 1. Just goto the second bank to start saving your own sounds. I hope this helps. Have fun with it but I would advise reading up on it. It took me a little while to get used to the Liven way of working.

@@SoulSearchingGaijin I have the on line manual and have looked at it, kind of confusing. So bank 2, you can have available slots for saving your own creations without overwriting, is that correct? I am expecting my Texture Lab this friday, and want to start sampling my Lemon Drop Granular. Thank You for addressing this for me in advance. How do you get to bank 2, what buttons are involved to get there? Your friend in synthesis, Expanding Knowledge. The Lemon Drop very easy to navigate for me, just need advice on the Texture Lab. Maybe it's my age or something, I am 67. Some instruments have a learning curve, some don't, that's my experience anyways, Much Respect my friend!

Thank you for this very helpful video. I wish the metronome on Livens wasn't linked to note length. It would be better if it was independent and fixed to quarter notes, irrespective of what patterns were doing.

I find it a little strange but haven't found a way around it yet.

Nice video but you should put the focus on the synth, then take it out of auto-focus. Leave it on manual focus to lock the focus on synth the so it doesn’t auto focus on your hands when they’re in the scene.
@SoulSearchingGaijinАй бұрын
Yep I learned that lesson the hard way. That's a regular practice these days. I'm kinda a nub with the camera. Sorry for the distraction.

Hey, thanks for the video. Do you know how to set it up that external midi only triggers the clock, but no notes in the liven? Cheers
@SoulSearchingGaijinАй бұрын
If you go into the Midi options your should be able to set the Midi receive channels to ones you aren't sending out from other devices. I honestly haven't had to sort that out in my setup so I hope this helps.
@projectvimeАй бұрын
@@SoulSearchingGaijin yeah.. tried that..but obviously not the correct way.. hehe..

@@projectvime Have a look at the manual pages 86-90. There are only a few options to try but your answer should be there. Good luck.

Can you set it to play chords with 1 button push and does it record modulation live if you know what i mean ?😊
@SoulSearchingGaijin2 ай бұрын
I am pretty sure you need to play the chords in live or enter them in step record mode. As for modulation if you push function"parm rec" then record/play it will record any knob tweaks. I hope this helps.
