sweet, somber tones..............I like how you've got it divided into the bright side, and the dark side.............Love this collection of gear..............so powerful, complex, diverse and capable of much exploration................well played....it's strange - but these days, I don't seem to see a lot of videos where people are actually 'performing' with keyboards anymore......this was brilliant in every way

Dug up a lot of emotions, this one. Sat there listening with a lump in my throat. That Nymphes sure has a gorgeous sound. Loved the gradual release of the filter. Come to think of it, a lot of Dreadbox gear I heard sounds great. Anyway, thanks for this. Wonderful.

I got´m all - besides the , now - crazy rare Dreadbox Abyss , and the Hades ,- and its seemingly impossible to make them sound anything but Soulful and Lyrical - i put them up there with the Moog´s anyday !

You always create a rich, evolving and captivating piece. The beauty is in the simplicity. Like a great chef, you don’t need to complicate a dish to make it come alive. By using good ingredients and purposefully putting them together you can create magic. Thank you for the vibrations.

Beautiful. Its not just beautiful music but very technical behind it all. Immensely clever. It like " less is more" when you know what you are doing and with what!!

Hi Jay, I've told you a couple of times before, but I'm gonna repeat it again: you are one of the best musicians that I've ever heard in my whole life, so creative and delicate with sounds. You give synthesis another level, man. In this case, this sound reminds me of Yamaha CS80, Vangelis, and Blade Runner sound, but more charmy and elegant. Keep on doing these videos and sharing with all of us, please. Thanks a lot.

Nice! The nymphes and slöer is a mighty tasty combo! I could see them gelling really well with the PWM Malevolent and DFAM setup you used for that apocalyptic jam! Would love to hear another one of those some day!!! 😋🤠

Great piece. Thanks for the moment. The GR1 looks amazing. Will the new torso be anything like it ? How does pitch detection work with samples you put into it ? Must they be within key ? Or will the granular engine sort that out when you play a given note ? Curious about that... (keep posting, your sounds are great)
@JayHosking11 ай бұрын
I have no idea about the new Torso, and I'm not sure how much anyone knows as of today. There is no pitch detection on the GR-1, but you can quickly and easily tune it to where you want. Usually I'll just have the voices tuned up to different notes that work together. And thanks!

Was that just one voice being used on the granular and you are boosting the decay? I've got one but struggle to integrate it into my workflow. Excellent sounds!
@JayHosking Жыл бұрын
No, it's four different timbres on the GR-1. Three are playing (with the play button), and one is receiving the same MIDI data as the Nymphes (shows up partway through the song). And thanks!

That’s definitely your go to sound on the nymphes Also I’m gonna say it sounds much better than using the night sky. The night sky in my opinion, I’ve owned it twice and I’ve used it with this synthesizer. I could never get it to sit right Reverb just had too many harmonics. Just my opinion. The sloer fits very nicely.

I love mine! It’s my favorite granular synth.
@JayHosking Жыл бұрын
It's a really great synth. But it's a smaller company, relatively high price point, and not available in a lot of local shops, so it's mainly spread by word of mouth and videos. But it's easily my favourite granular. Great layout, great capabilities, and great visual feedback on screen.
