Ambient Weather: WS-5000 review

I just LOVE the Ambient Weather WS-5000 Console BUT.... I bought my WS 5000 in October 2023 and installed it in my home in Jakarta, Indonesia, in December 2023. In the past 10 months, I've had nothing but technical problems. 1) The AC-DC adaptor failed after only about 3 months in use. This was not the US plug model but the 220 volt plug used in much of SE Asia. 2) The Console screen died shortly after and just went black and stopped showing any data 3) In July, the Ultrasonic Anemometer and wind vane died and even now I get no readings at all. While the folks from Ambient were prompt and courteous (especially Ms. Odell Lopez is fantastic) but the fact remains their electronics have been a disappointment, even though their LCD console is, IMPO. the best and most useful. Their design and customer service are great, and I would not hesitate to purchase from Ambient again, but ONLY if they produced more reliable electronics. Dr. PDG, Jakarta, Indonesia

Do you operate any CB or Ham radio transmitters? If so, is there any interference with the weather unit?

@sorryociffer I do not as of now. I haven't heard of interference, though, in my research.

You are my third review before finishing my shift & taking the plunge in pen & paper purchase plans. The external lightening housing is a must add-on obviously along with that sensor. The other similar sensors seem to be hit & miss when used outside, such as the soil one. For me that would be for indoor large plant & another for deep freezer monitoring. Rechargeable lithium is fine in freezers just not when you are going to be charging them, they must be above 5⁰C or higher. In azombie outbreak; quiet weaponry such as crossbow is the course of action l'd take sir' =GunZenBomZ=

CH = channel for going to other sensors the top right two icons would change or scrolls to show other info. The lightening sensor shows a; dis for distance & counter below for strikes it registers. The icons are tiny but very cool information too know if it's going to be a massive summer storm!
