You're taking shelter from an intense storm in a small metal shack. Gale force winds rattle the tin panels around you, immense rain drowns out almost everything you can hear.

8D isn't a real thing, it essentially means a binaural audio emulation of a sound source moving around you. The same technology is used here, but for many different sounds instead of one; so you're surrounded by sound as opposed to having one prevalent sound source.
