Ambivalent Omnipotence (Original Music)

This one’s a bit of an experiment. It’s my first time doing a key-change, and I also tried having a more usual song-like structure (with distinct verses and choruses and so on), the sort of structure that many songs with vocals use.
The idea that started this piece was to see if my favorite synth sound-font could carry an entire piece of music on its own (there is other stuff going on, but most of the layers here are actually variations on the same synth). The result is sort of satisfactory I think, but it did end up sounding kind of muddled.
I named it Ambivalent Omnipotence because to me the feel of this piece brought to mind a mental image of some sort of immensely powerful entity, that could be catastrophically dangerous or equally helpful, not in the least bit caring about you one way or the other.

Thank you so much! The footage for this one was some slow motion I took with my phone of a rain puddle... which promptly got filled in with asphalt a couple days after. I'm fairly confident that this is the last footage ever to be taken of that particular puddle, which I think adds a nice bit of special-ness.

Thank you! And don't tell anyone, but... I actually still use Garageband. Hopefully it doesn't sound quite so blatantly Garageband-esque as it once did.

What you’re hearing is the same synth sound font used as the lead instrument in both. I actually made this one first, as an experimental testbed when I first discovered that sound and was excited to try it out.
