Should I Buy Walkers BRAND NEW B27i?

In today's Riding Shotgun I get to try out for the first time Walker Mowers newest mower the B27i (this is the Northwest Edition). I saw this for the first time last year at the GIE EXPO and knew I wanted one before they even came out. The reason I'm looking at purchasing this mower is because it has more horse power (27 compared to 23 on the other mower) which will help with mulching lawns and will help running the bigger deck we would like as well (52"). I have a T27i and just purchased a new b27i with the M42 deck. So amazed how the mulch deck performs. With over foot tall grass with 2 passes, looks like grass was bagged. Also very amazed with very little clumping stuck grass under the m42 deck. Im only using the T27i for heavy grass/clippings or fall cleanup. Thanks for your Walker intro videos

Looking good jason it is amazing what the extra few inches on the deck width does for time. When I've been using 42 than go to 48 it is amazing how much more ground you cover on bigger residential properties with 48 compared to 42. I have 4 mc,s and one mt but the mc,s are quick little machines. I am going to put a new 48 mulcher on my new 2019 mc walker this year

Seriously considering adding one of these soon. Walker has fallen out of favor in Florida in the last 20 years. But you realize one day, I’m using way too big of a mower, it’s too heavy. I’m working my butt off to make it cut nice, and in general just isn’t the right machine for what I’m doing anymore. Big wheel kit will definitely come in handy here. Thanks for putting in the time to make the videos

I don't envy your regular mowing conditions. I know how frustrating it is to mow yards with morning dew still on it, but after 11am it mostly burns off. I feel like your stuff is ALWAYS wet! :D Great video, I like that machine!

Great video Jason, I used to run Walker T27i mower and last fall I had a close call with it. The bagger was full so I lifted it up to empty it and some leaves came out and onto the engine and started a mini fire. Always keep a fire extinguisher in your trailer!

I have told my distributor they need to place some kind of shield over the engine bay so that doesnt happen since I deal with that a lot as well...is the T27i your first Walker?

Im surprised your able to mulch that, grass in the PNW is so damn wet, it just clogs the deck. I live north of Seattle and never had luck mulching.

How many times did you have to clean the deck? Really looking into one of these mulching decks. I’m in Spokane so we’re not as wet or damp as where you’re at.

It really all depends on how thick the gras your cutting is and how wet. On a bad day I will clean it atleast 3-4 times but trust me way easier to do it with this mower and deck setup than a zero turn ha. I was out in Spokane a couple years ago to buy a Walker out there, met the dealer there as well

I’m just a homeowner but enjoy your stuff. I have a stander x 52 and looking to trade her for that walker. Is that the 2019 or 2020 model. Also I was thinking of dropping down to the 48” because of tighter cuts. What’s your thought. Stay safe all. James

@@colinmartin5994 Since Covid, I've been hearing a lot of problems with brand new Walkers coming right off the assembly line. I purchased a brand new T27i and with not even 1 hrs had engine problems.

So it looked like you had the "X" style 2 blades on each side on the deck of the 48" mower. What are the mulching blades you added and what bracket did you have to buy to get them to work with the existing blades? Thanks!

Looks like a great machine Jason! Considering replacing my current 42" with a B model eventually. Interesting that they've put an electric clutch on these ones instead of the manual style. Any idea why?

I know for safety reason but it also dropped the price as well which was surprising. It eliminated a few pulleys and belt which us really nice.

A sticker! Ha just kidding, the mower itself is the same but my distributor puts on the back bucket, different wheels, a cup holder to make it a special edition in a sense for our area. I'm going to be making an in depth video about it really soon
