An informative and supportive Forum for patients and carers was held in November as part of the Australasian Melanoma Conference.
Co-chaired by Matthew Browne, CEO of MIA, and Victoria Beedle, CEO of Melanoma Patients Australia (MPA), the Forum covered both the medical and psycho-social elements of the melanoma journey.

If you get drug therapy, does it have any effect on other cancers in the body? If maybe you had breast , ovarian, or maybe testicular cancer undiagnosed, would it be beneficial to those? I'm asking because the way I have seen it described is it helps take down barriers that prevent your own body from curing itself. Correct me if I'm wrong. I am awaiting a biopsy result and doing research.

Immunotherapy drugs make the immune system more effective in recognising and attacking cancer cells, which helps improve the chance of recovery and reduce cancer recurrence. Immunotherapy is used to treat advanced melanoma and certain other cancers. Every case is individual.
