The writers really screwed up by not putting Edmund and Brooke together for the long-term. They were very MAGICAL together. Her best pairing. RIP John Callahan.

It was not a hit and run. There are KZbin videos of Josh being at the hospital with Barbara (who was supposed to be watching Laura at the time she got hit) seeing if Laura was okay. So he did not run away, and he even plead guilty to getting drunk and killing Laura. He did something really reckless and stupid, but he actually accepted the consequences of his actions. I am glad Brooke eventually forgave him.

Clarifying, it wasn't a hit-and-run - Josh stayed and even went to the hospital immediately after. But he was drunk.

See now and they may have gotten it wrong, Erica said he ran from the scene of the crime........I don't remember this storyline cause I was young

I'm not fond of this group of scenes for 2 reasons: 1.Trying to tie Josh's deception to Bianca being in the closet seems like a false equivalency. Josh is hiding his crimes while Bianca's hiding her sexual preference from irrational hatred. 2.Erica's comment about Laura's death affecting all her relationships is an exaggeration at best. Clearly her marriage to Adam fell apart because he went overboard trying to essentially replace Laura and slept with Dixie. Maybe you can make a case for her marriage to Tad but Laura seemed to contribute to her breakdown during that breakup.

I don't think a teenager, particularly one desperately struggling to find a path of coming out to her mom, would necessarily be concerned about a false equivalency here - hence Bianca makes the connection, and attempts to present it to Erica. She's testing the waters here, and she's making a case for acceptance - in the only way she can at this point in time. Erica's comment about Brooke's relationships are not a reflection of facts, they are Erica's narrative for Brooke... and what Erica said, is pretty much in line with what Erica usually says about Brooke.

I read somewhere that Julia Barr (Brooke) wasn't satisfied with how this storyline turned out. That the writers didn't invest that much into it. It could have had some potential, could've had Tom make a few appearances and came face to face with Josh, could've had Brooke struggle with her feelings about a reformed man who became a minister , and that part about her adopting that boy, they could've explored that more, made him a part of her family, gave him a storyline. Just some missed opportunities all around during that year
