Rip John Callahan you made us fans of AMC love Edmund Grey so much! I especially love the way Edmund bonded with his half brother Dimitri, then his love for Maria Santos! Edmund and Maria were my favorite couple next to Dimitri and Erica. I am so sad over the loss of John Callahan still young gone too soon. Rest with the angels John Callahan you will be so very missed....

I was watching this going thru John Callahan memories as Edmond Grey and how sad I am that he has died in real life. I truly grew to love him as an actor and loved him and Maria/ Eva LaRue as a beautiful couple. John Callahan, you will be always loved, missed and remembered by your family, friends, and fans that felt blessed to have you touch their hearts and lives. RIP

Maria did nothing but cheat on and hurt Edmund. Maria was a horrible wife. She ultimately fell in love with someone else.

Ahh I did not know that Julia Barr also submitted this episode for her 1998 reel! I remember the first one (the meltdown at WRCW)...both were fabulous choices! She earned that Emmy!

Jesus...poor Edmund. I remember this episode. I was in tears watching it onTV. That must be the worst moment in life, learning that the person you love most on earth has died.

What really makes this scene hard to watch is (a) The actors were married in real life at this time. There's a good chance there's real emotion here. (b) This almost DID happen in real life. They were supposed to be on one of the planes that hit the World Trade Center. They switched to a later flight so that she could sleep late (she felt ill because of her pregnancy).

+Daniel De La Torre, this is when Edmund, Maria and Brooke were in a plane crash. Brooke helped save Edmund and the baby (Maddie) but they could save maria because she was trapped in the plane that was teetering on the edge of the cliff. The plane fell over the cliff with Maria in it.

I'm torn here between HATING that Edmund is crying over Maria who I HATED with a passion (of course I don't hate Eva Larue..all is fair in love and war on soaps), and knowing the crap he will spew at Brooke at the funeral, and loving seeing TRUE acting with John Callahan (most realistic reaction, crying, screaming, I've ever seen) and Julia Barr. John Callahan is truly an amazing actor. He is a great comedic actor, dramatic actor, and is also extremely charismatic, not to mention hot, sexy and handsome. Having said this, when Edmund was with Maria, he got so boring, always scowling, and John played a real 'holier than thou' characterization of Edmund, in my opinion. I loved him best with Brooke, always with the angst, charm, wit, sadness, heartbreak, going on adventures with Brooke (remember Willow Lake Acres?)......

@@jiovanna4136 Because she was always a witch to Brooke, and talked about her behind her back. And the character of Maria was too boring for Edmund, who became boring in all of Maria's stories.

@@tammyramey Girl please you act like Brooke wasn't in drama contantly...always putting herself in bad situations. Maria was a great character who stayed with one husband. She was the Pride of Latinos watching...it was great to see Latin families on soap operas because it was extremely Rare...and Maria character was loved by Hispanics and Latinos and her family was like our families. Edmin loved her and they were the most celebrated couple of (All My Children) I would be a witch towards brooke if she kept getting in between me and husband and always trying cause trouble.

@@jiovanna4136 Uh...Maria cheated on Edmund with his own brother and thought her baby was Dimitri's. No character is perfect. I just don't like Eva's acting, or her character. I'm allowed. Also, One Life to Live had many latino characters. Though, it doesn't matter if she was latino, or not. I just like who I like. I happen to think Maria was a witch at times, when she felt threatened. And she always felt threatened by Brooke.
