The 470 mobos do not need the bios update.

going to build a 1440p gaming rig with a 1080 ti. what parts would ya recomend to go with it in regards to a mobo, cpu, case and ram. just for gaming no streaming or anything like that

Question, should I plug the CPU Fan to the motherboard or plug it into the 4 Pin fan plug from the case?
@TheManCaveVideo5 жыл бұрын
I prefer plugging it into the motherboard for the fan speed control. There's no need in the fan running full speed when the CPU is running at a low temperature.
@roarkeven5 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I thought that the software with Cam I’d be able to control that fan speed but I guess I’ll have to just move it back to the motherboard. Appreciate it!

I have several questions: why didn't you put thermal paste? why did u skip the mobo io shield? and why do u use 1070 founder edition?
@TheManCaveVideo6 жыл бұрын
Thermal paste comes pre applied to the heatsink that comes with the CPU. I'm sorry I didn't show it in the video because it seems to be the source of a lot of confusion. The io Shield is an integrated part of the motherboard so that went in when the motherboard went in. At the time of this build video cards were hard to find and really hard to find at prices that were not rip off level pricing. I purchased the founders Edition card for actual MSRP from Best Buy.

Hi, I am building a similar build (S340 Elite & 2700X specifically), and fairly new to building a gaming PC. I'm trying to understand airflow, and noticed you don't have front fans. Does this case requires front fans?
@TheManCaveVideo6 жыл бұрын
Front case fans are not required but they can be installed. The front part of the case has an air filter on it. In my setup I essentially have for exhaust fans. One in the power supply unit, one in the video card, one rear case fan behind the CPU and one case fan in the top of the case above the CPU. Each of these four fans draw air in through the front of the case and across the components with exhaust to the rear and the top. I am sticking with a negative pressure setup for now.
@HDN...O_O6 жыл бұрын
@@TheManCaveVideo Ah, okay. That makes sense. Thanks for explaining about that.

when I go to pc part picker it says its incompatible for 2 m.2 nvme from western digital thatb I need a additional slot but the mother board comes with 2 slots but it says its ok for 2 samsung evos im confused can some one explain
@terra51786 жыл бұрын
kingodin79 This might be because your mother supports the Gen2 version which has one mini gold pin connector and one bigger gold pin connector at the end of the sad to the slot. The WD one you might be getting is gen 1 which has 2 mini gold pin connectors and one medium.

Is it normal to see the fan slowing down for quite some time?
@TheManCaveVideo5 жыл бұрын
Yes. The motherboard controls the fan based on the temperature of the CPU. If there's nothing going on that is causing the CPU to heat up then the fan can run really slow for quite some time.
