Funny thing about the FX chips they actually perform well than Skylake based Pentiums dual core. I remember how people say dual cores easily beat FX 8350. When games start to use more than 4 cores thats when those dual cores fall apart. I have the Pentium G3900 and FX 8350 being tested on games like Valorant and Apex. I always see G3900 at 100% all the time unless I cap the FPS to 40 fps to leave some CPU usages to the background apps. Before I discover it I had FX8350 as paperweight for like 3 years until I decided to test it for fun. I had to bent the pins back to make it work. lol Skylake to me is really good but it didn't age well.

They're on a loss for more than a year. Only Nvidia in the US is (WAS - you heard the first news) making money cause of AI demand in China. Micron has horrible financial situation, AMD is on a loss aswell, Qualcomm is bound to start losing money soon and the same should go to Apple if China takes a crackdown on Apple products now that Huawei can produce 5G mobile CPUs - the latter won't be buying Qualcomm's overpriced last gen parts cause of sanctions no more, and other Chinese phone brands are showing interests in the Kirin 9000S

the only differnce between the two is that the e-cores have a lower clock and do not support multithreading, i have a feeling they wanted to release a "48 thread cpu" but it got so hot that they had to cut the performance of 2/3 of the cores and make them 1 thread per core. then they went and doubled down by marketing them as "performance" or "efficiency" but really its just their development team being retarded.

@@ryannicholl8661 "They are not making up benchmark numbers", so what's your point then? Sentiment and market share? I couldn't care less and never bother to look at them. Core speed hasn't been the primary issue since I wrote my paper on Hyper-Threading in 2003. I'm not an expert with CPU's and less so with AMD, but I'm nearly certain that Intel wins so far as architecture, thread mapping and overall processor management. Am I being a fanboy? No. Am I running a 12 year old "daily driver" right now? Yes I am, this 2300 won't die despite smoke, dust, a single exhaust fan in a crowded case. My old lga775 still functions mostly (not a chip problem)... heck even my P4c800E 478 chip is fine and that thing is older than most people in the comments section! That said, I have built a few AMD machines that my friends burned to a crisp years ago (not every one, maybe half). Never a serious issue with Intel, of course there will be (or used to be) hardware conflicts and misbehaving drivers. So few people have asked me to build an AMD machine for them, I can't recall if they were better with drivers... doubt it since most of the issues are MOBO side.

Inability to police their own platform is all. It's so easy to create and offer products apparently (I don't know this myself, as I obviously don't sell on Amazon, much less anywhere else), but it's my theory. A friend of mine purposely bought a card at 45% off (the RX7800XT) and within 24 hours, Amazon had to credit his account and shut down the seller (the one with the entire alphabet as it's name from China). Then the next day, another new seller popped up with same product... so my buddy bought one again. 24 hours later Amazon had to refund and take down the seller. This continued over an entire week and 4 different purchases with 4 different brand new "sellers". Each time Amazon having to cancel the order and refund $$$. So their not making any money over this (unless they somehow get the seller to pay fees). I can only speculate that they just can't police their own shit when it comes to "retailers" selling on their platform.

Intel's 6C12T consumer CPU had been in development for a long time before AMD had anything worth mentioning. Maybe 9900K and 10900K would have been a different story? @johnscaramis2515
@johnscaramis2515 6 ай бұрын
@@kimnice Development for a long time? What is "a long time" for you? Don't forget, Coffee Lake (aka 8th gen) was the refresh of the refresh of the Skylake architecture, so close to zero development for the actual architecture, it was more or less "only" integrating two more cores, aka changing the interconnecting bus. But I think they used the same ringbus like in all architectures before (and afterwards up to 10 cores). That's far from having to develop a new microarchitecture regarding duration of development. The problem with 10nm was, that Intel set the goals to high for a new node. And instead of stopping the development and defining new goals, they let the development section going on. Besides the problems with the 10nm node, one of their mistakes was also to not backport the Cove architecture to 14nm earlier? Access to PCIe gen4, higher IPC and so on. OK, they did the backport. Way too late and that led to the "waste of sand" 11th gen.

The thing that irritates me is, if its banned in China or restrictions on exports then it ends up affecting us normal consumers in the US. The moment these restrictions went into place almost all GPU's shot up in price and were no longer available. This isn't what the restrictions are intended to do. I don't know what the real answer is other than there are some very wealthy pockets that keep buying all kinds of goods when items are in demand and reselling them at higher prices on Amazon or Newegg etc.. It really started to take off around the pandemic. Maybe restrictions on shipping and certain numbers have to be sold in partner countries (EU\UK\NA\JP\SK\AUS) This Amazon issue has been going on far to long. Amazon needs to do something about it. This was the last place my CC number was stolen and since I have made sure almost all my purchases are Ships from and Sold by Amazon I haven't had any issues. The US government is out of touch when it comes to export restrictions. When you publish a level of product that is banned, companies will use that guideline in their business decisions. And this is reasonable. This is a little like saying the speed limit is 55 and saying if you drive 54, we are just going to lower the speed limit. The restrictions should be clear and violations punished.

09:15 AMD's Athlon series is equivalent to Intel's Pentium and Celeron series, which peak at 2-4 outdated cores, frequently without multithreading. The fact lower end market gets 4 full fat 2nd gen cores for the price of around 50$ is amazing. Try to persuade Intel to rebrand their i3 10100 as the new Celeron CPU for 50$. Guess what? They won't...

The 5700X3D likely is a 5800X3D which didn't quite make the cut during quality check, but works fine with lowered specs. Also, it isn't just that AM4 boards cost less, but also that it is a very nice upgrade option for those already owning an AM4, since it gets you near AM5 performance especially during gaming - fast enough for your GPU to not bottleneck.

Intel once released the i7 11370H in laptops which was a 4 core CPU. The 10th gen had all 6 or 8 core CPU for i7 gaming mobile CPUs. clearly not a downgrade in multi threaded performance for laptops. This CPU was paired with a 3070 Asus tuf dash which performed worse than a regular RTX 2060 laptop

Some of the CPU/GPU combos on laptops really make no sense at all. Glad I was able to find a 11800H/3060 for a decent price over the summer. The 11800H trades blows with the (desktop) 9900k while using less than a quarter of the power. That 11370h just seems like a terrible processor all around.

Good to see someone not fawning over Intel or at the very least waving off their behavior. Too many time I've seen people talk about AMD's latest powerhouse chip then in the next breath talk as if Intel is still the only real choice anyone could possibly have. Me personally I'm still salty about Intel mucking with compilers back in the 2000s to give their chips a boost. And the whole secretly bankrolling Dell's entire operational budget to bribe them to be Intel only.

All that the Intel FUD Slidedeck showed is that AMD's Zen2 from 2019 is still a viable and competitive performance to Intel's latest. It really just shows how far ahead AMD is and has been for a while now. Make no mistake a Zen2 CPU is very much viable in today's world if it delivers good performance, good efficiency and is available at a low price on a platform (AM4) that's been proven over the years to be stable and cost effective.

The AMD 7X20 CPUs/APUs are enhanced because they are more efficient (built on 6nm) and they support DDR5. So, these are new CPUs/APUs using older, simpler architecture. AMD has been very transparent about that, so I don't see the problem, except maybe for the naming.

@@johnscaramis2515 right...but if the IPC uplift had been as good as advertised, then it still should have beaten the 10900K with two fewer cores. If you look at the Ryzen 5 7600 vs. the Ryzen 7 5800X, the 7600 beats it out or ties it in most gaming and productivity scenarios...at a lower TDP and with 2 fewer cores and 4 fewer threads. Likewise with the 5600X vs. the 3800X.

as to nvidia "S" model cards, thew S doesn't stand for "Super", that's just what they want you to think. The "S" and "Ti" models always feature less memory and lower clock speed, and never reach the claimed performance gap over the standard models in RL performance. in fact, the real life benchmarks show the gap the other way from the standards. Thus it is my official opinion the "S" stands for "STUPID".

You forgot the whole E core P core setup just so they can say they have a 16 core CPU..... not all cores perform the same, eh? Then, there's renaming their 10nm process Intel 7 to show that it compares to TSMC's 7nm process....... and the purposeful obfuscation in their own CPU naming scheme coming up with 'Core Extreme' or whatever. Sure, AMD isn't perfect by a longshot, but Intel has no room to talk on any of that.
