Thank you, sir! Not only for this DVD, but also for "Knights of the Black Sun" Amebix's music video and that War/Plague's "mechanical bird"! You did a great art work! PS: And, sorry to inconvenience you. But could you explain to me the meaning of the cover of the Amebix's "Sonic Mass" album? Or tell me where I can find more information about that symbol (a kind of cross/monolith)? Thanks!
@trashlives933 жыл бұрын
@@FrankCastiglione I know you meant this question for Andy, but in this interview Rob talks a bit about the symbolism in both Tau Cross and Sonic Mass: thequietus.com/articles/20037-tau-cross-rob-miller-amebix-interview ctrl + f = Sonic Mass Thought it might interest you, best of luck.

Having one of the best drummers in the whole rock/metal/industrial game behind the kit really helps. Also probably a lot better sound system, mixing, everything really compared to what they had at their disposal back in the crust punk days. Some people see that sound in a nostalgic light. I don't. I wish more of the great bands from that era could have put their songs on tape in really good studios where the full range of power and punch the music really contained was captured.

Always loved Amebix since I first heard them in 10th grade. Their sound was so differnt then what the rest of the punk and crust genre sounds like. You can truly taste the influences of MOTORHEAD. Great band, and they STILL sound amazing, better even cause they have brough in more modern styles of drumming and synths, which add depth to the music, making it sound way more epic and larger then life. Not like a band that simply sounds like a garage band. Which I also love. But Amebix always had a darker, influential aesthetic. And the music, gives you a whole differnt epic image compared to other punk bands. Their lyrics are more comparable to Iron Maiden or Black sabbath. Something I wish more punk did. Explore mythology, cyber punk, Dark gothic middle ages, and the thems that go with it. Why does everything have to be about the real world with punk? Be creative, explore the same themes froma more grand POV, like a world you create in the music. Punk has become the equivalent to regular hip hop[. While amebix is deltron 3030 gorillazs level creative. And its rare bands sound the same live, this is a signature of punk, since the sound isnt as produced to bring to live performances. So in reality most punk is simpler, but sounds BETTER live.

I'm new to Amebix. The beginning of "Arise!" sound slike it influenced Bolt Thrower's "in battel there is no law", "world eater", "powder burns", "the killchain", "cenotaph", "embers". "Chain reaction" seems to have influenced the outro of "anti-tank (dead armour)". The ending to Secrets of the Moon's "worship" sounds slightly like the ending of "Arise!". Is it just me, or does anyone think that too?

Amebix were super infuential to a whole bunch of 'extreme' Metal bands. Even Bands like Darkthrone were influenced by them.
@tiadanama6236 Жыл бұрын
It wouldn't surprise me at all since early in their career, Bolt Thrower were very much part of the punk and grind scene. They can be seen wearing a handful of punk shirts too like Crass, Antisect and Discharge. Heck even before Bolt Thrower were formed, Gavin played for The Varukers.
