It's so reassuring and marvellous to see that out of all this mayhem and tragedy of a barbaric war comes a beautiful shining light with an amazing voice for one so young. Amelia, you are going to have a bright future and you thoroughly deserve to do so...

I do think of all the precious children and people whose lives were cut short because of one psychopath. 😢

The destructive power of essentially one person determined to do evil is truly horrendous and tragic.

Don't "excuse" using the word psychopath. This is just evil pure and simple. Which is why the answer to this lies in God and in prayer.

@@sidpheasant7585 As JFK said in his inaugural address: "Let us go forth ... asking His blessing and His help, but knowing that here on earth God's work must truly be our own." But I don't think calling someone a psychopath in this context excuses their behavior or implies it is not pure evil. I think that in this context, saying Putin is a psychopath does not mean he is some sort of unfortunate blameless victim of mental illness, but that he is a truly cruel, evil, despicable person with no conscience or sense of moral decency -- and the only form of 'excuse' applicable is that he is a totally depraved, deplorable 'excuse of a human being'.

@@richardgarlikov5347 interesting quote from JFK, though controversial for me. Very probably you are right about the rest, but I have always found psychopathy tricky. First there is the way the Americans basically abolished the term, seemingly replacing it with several others, then we have the idea of a continuum, whereby many politicians, bysinesspeople and so on can be regarded as semi-psychopathic, then we have the uncomfortable situation for me that people with a mental affliction we can't treat are warned against strongly and condemned, even as people with autism, schizophrenia, bipolar, eating disorders and all the rest are seen as sympathetic-ish figures who can be forgiven. The idea that a person cannot help it actually applies in all of these cases, hence the inconsistency of approach that because a schizophrenic hears voices and cant help it, that's different from a person who can't stop manipulating people cold-heartedly because of the way their brain is constructed. This is a convenient approach, in line with people's fears, but it does not seem scientifically rigorous or morally justifiable to me, unfortunately.

@@sidpheasant7585 While I think there are some behaviors that might be beyond a person's control, I think psychology (or at least 'pop', amateur psychology) is often mistaken or at least too quick to judge some particular behavior is one of those, rather than seeing it as a bad, controllable moral choice for which a person is responsible and blameworthy. Does that agree with your view of this? I believe Putin is making choices he ought to know are wrong and that he is responsible for the destruction he is causing. I take the JFK statement to mean that insofar as we are responsible for our choices and acts, we all have personal responsibility for trying to do the right acts God wants us to do and that means more than simply praying that God will fix something. Is that understanding still controversial to you? Am I not seeing something you see is mistaken about it? By the way, for what it is worth, I make a distinction between excusing someone and forgiving them, though there may be some cases that are difficult to distinguish, but in general a legitimate excuse is a justifiable reason for why someone is not blameworthy even though they committed a wrong act, for example missing a meeting they were not informed about and had no reason to know or suspect had been scheduled. Forgiveness applies to inexcusable wrong acts for which a person has sufficiently atoned after committing it, though, of course people may disagree about what constitutes sufficient atonement or whether a given person has met the criteria or not for a given inexcusable wrong act they committed.
