She did very well. When I was her age I was playing Mario Bros. and Duck Hunt. I still can't believe player 2 controlled the ducks, I still can't get over that. I never knew that until 5facts lol

Amelia is SO cute and SO smart! She did a great job! Portal and Portal 2 are my all time favorite games (as you can probably tell by name an profile picture, lol) I love how much it works your brain while being fun at the same time. What a great idea to show her how to play it while she's still so young. I love how much she's learning about momentum and physics in general, while have a blast doing it. That is great parenting!!

It's always amazing to me how kids just seem to "get" video games. If I sat down to this I'd be wondering, wait, what's the objective? How do I move? What do I do? I DON'T UNDERSTAND! I love how you were explaining terms along the way. Your kids are blessed to have these memories with you!

I was actually thinking about this. She has always loved games but was reluctant to play them, until Animal Crossing, which is mostly 2D gameplay. So I had her play a bunch of Minecraft before this to get her used to 3D spaces. The whole idea of Portal is that it completely changes your perception of what a 3D game is, so I wanted her to have that context, which def helped. Also, I'm editing out a LOT of "dead space" where she is just walking around confused. But once she got it, she really got it!

They'd never played it, but they seemed to catch on right away. I was still wondering, wait, what's the goal? How do you know what to do?
