6:49 - as someone who owns & rides a Selle Francais in real life, the “lopey” trot animation is pretty accurate to how they trot in real life, in my opinion. just because the breed is warmblooded and they’re super athletic, doesn’t mean that they’re naturally high stepped or naturally fancy movers ☺️.

Hey I was the one who wrote this, but basically I just put theselles in there just because from what I had previously heard about them I never seen them with a small step like that. but a breed I forgot about that I didn’t put in there because I had remembered it too late was the Mustang. I hate how star stable did their trot, I’ve worked with a lot of mustangs and mustang crosses and star stable just made it seem like mustangs can never be nice looking and just have choppy little lesson horse trots which I was extremely disappointed about.Also with their necks going out so long in jump is a problem too.all the Mustangs have ridden were hunters and do it really well. One of them even one champion at his second show and he got many compliments from the judges about how they don’t usually see mustangs and how he plesently surprised them . when I said selles wasn’t really personally jabbing at them. I was just kind of listing off things that I’ve seen from other people.

I understand wanting western equitation in the game but I feel it should be a thing on all tack, the option to sit the trot/have one hand on the reins. Because as a western rider I do post, and I do use two reins (especially for barrels) but I've also seen English riders go with one rein. And of course sit the trot. It should be an option to do this sorts of things for realism not something that's coded in.

Yes because I ride English and we do sitting trot, if we do sit in our seat some horses won’t pick up canter because they think your asking for a faster trot and sometimes I will just ride with 1 hand if I’m on a pony I trust a lot or if I’m just doing long rein at the end of my ride (riding school English girl here!)

8:36 Black Desert Online does this so well. I feel like it wouldn't be too difficult to add. In Black Desert you set a map marker, it registers the roads, and you can do whatever you want for like 40 minutes while it auto travels you to the specific marker. And the BDO map is HUGE. Like, youre talking an hour if not more to auto run one side to the other, if they can register all them roads for free run surely Star Stable can. The retrofitting too.... It really should not be such a long process. EVERY gen 3 horse should be able to wear the newest tack, its actually crazy. What is the point of releasing it if I can only use it on two breeds. And they price it all at 10k shillings or 100sc, so youre paying that much for tack with 3 horse usage. I would honestly prefer they *stopped* making new horses and polished these things up. Drives me mad

I feel like my complaint would be that we can’t switch between servers from different countries. For example if you find a nice club on youtube or smth, but they are in another country’s server, it automatically means you will never be able to join. I think what would be nice is we are able to make servers, and then get codes to enter, or just be able to switch between a wider range of servers. Not hating, just thinking it would really change the game positively.

I agree. I created my account 10 years ago when I lived in Sweden, and now I live in the US, so I have no other choice but to play the game in night time because i can't change to an American server 😂

my biggest complaint is the exact opposite... our characters look huge now on horses... we are not some 1,80m buff guy... we are teen girls why are we so big? and our heads are huge and our legs so short and the way the clothing fits now looks like we are mini millenials and not teens from the 2000s ...like we should (y2k is popular now anyways) pls try to stand next to lisa on the starshile ranch and then her dad...and youll see what i mean

Yeah, I agree with everything they said. I do think that sso has been doing better recently though, they've given us like 9+ sc codes every month and the new coats this year are very pretty. I would just like if they actually listened to us more. Edit: I was looking at the update log and at the bottom it said "report a player" and I got so happy until I read it and it said that it's available in Australia now Edit 2: They're releasing the sitting trot in May

As someone who did get the privilege to try the Global Horse Market feature. I hate it. Most straight-forward answer I can give. It limits the feel of adventure to find horses to buy. Heck, I remember when I was younger, I was so excited to unlock Epona to get an Icelandic from there. But now, (even though I'm level 20) it removes all excitement for new players to work hard to unlock these areas to buy these horses. (As well as SSO putting older horses in the retirement market. Ridiculous in my opinion.)

I agree! I also got to try the global horse market thing and I see no reason for it existing, they don’t have all the coat colors or anything else either for all the breeds. I also really hated that they add coat colors in SSO that are supposed to be exclusively for the SSO horses app. And I was so angry because I had just gotten the chestnut paso fino transferred to the game and the Wednesday update came around and they added all the SSO horses exclusive coat colors. I’m still salty about it because it defeats the purpose of having an app for the goals and stuff. Also I seriously HATE SSO on mobile because my buttons rarely work, and it’s super hard to move around. Wish it would’ve stayed a PC game

I know this is true for the welsh pony, american paint, north swedish, Finn horse, Appaloosa, Percheron, pintabian, English thoroughbred, knabstrupper, Icelandic, Belgian Warmblood, Gotland pony, etc. While they did add some of the exclusive coats into the game.. They didn't add all of them. I think they're going to pick and choose what's made exclusive and what isn't. But tbh I'm not that mad about it because sometimes I want to be able to buy my horse at level 1 so I can spend more time with it instead of buying it at level 10 and being done with it in like two days.

My biggest thing with this game is definitely the death of the horses app. I feel like that was such a unique concept and it made you feel really proud when you'd suffered through 3 days of getting it up to level 10 to purchase it and transfer it to the game. Especially since a lot of people didn't bother so it was like you were rising an exclusive coat colour (which you were but it felt more special, yk?) Now the horses app is just in game coats that have been copy and pasted into the app for no reason. I don't know ANYONE who would choose to spend 3 days training to level 10 in an app over training for a day to max it.

11:40 As someone who pays really attention to the atmosphere of a game, I can tell you that it's not because you're older. SSO isn't "cold" either, the problem is that it's extremely artificial compared to the first years. The main example is during Christmas, the og Christmas felt authentic, you felt connected to the inhabitants thanks to the quests, they shown traditions, we helped an old lady to bake and make stuff for the festivities & cie. It was like coming to visit your grand parents in a small village and living good memories. Now the actual "Christmas" ( another non requested idea of them, getting rid of every normal festivities) felt like rushing to the supermarket in a big city, buying a cheap plastic decoration and just spending your evening on your phone. It's bland, boring, it doesn't offer any possible escape. And it's also a question of colors, og Christmas was all in white, greyish browns and greens, reds with few gold or silver details. Actual "Christmas" is like an overly saturated dark blue base with all bright colors, it's somehow a really agressive color palette. And it's like that for all the game all the year, it's overly bright and plastic-y, Idk if it makes sense but it smells stereotypical Y2K USA and Disney idols. I know they wanted to appeal younger kids but if a game needs Reshade that bad, then this game has a problem.

okay, i’m only 8 minutes into the video so idk if this is gonna be mentioned BUT! I miss having to get off and feed/water your horse throughout your ride. Like no horse can go that long without water. And i kinda wish they didn’t take out the feature where you would have to keep speeding your horse up. I’ve never been on a horse where you just set the speed like it was cruise control💀 WAIT another is being able to quit quests which has nothing to do with realism it was just a nice feature

as someone that owns probably 20 bay horses in game i am for sure disappointed they didn't make a bay mustang. the "simple" coats theyre making now are just black with socks or really flashy chestnut. i miss my dull bay coats that actually looked realistic ☹

I am so glad you never brought up the incorrect quote which is "the customer is always right" because it was originally "the customer is always right about their tastes" now a days it's used to excuse bad behaviours and allow people to walk all over retail people because customers are not always right... they have no idea what goes on behind the scenes or what policies are in place

About the report thing... Take this with a grain of salt, as I haven't played in a good few months, but last time I checked the swedish servers DO have a report option. I wasn't even aware this was exclusive to our servers until a while back. When i've used it in the past, it's never really gotten anywhere... but it's odd that they'd give it to swedish players but not everyone else.

The short story line hits way too hard, I recently made an account so I could play with one of my friends and was levelling it for them. The way that the story takes no time at all to unlock the map and finish the story quests is wild it’s so sad that sso is charging so much for what? A Fortnights worth of content? Less even. Disappointing tbh.

I tried to get into the game last year and like everything was behind some sort of paywall and I was just stuck with my starter horse and doing the basic quests and races which are so repetitive and I was trying to give the benefit of the doubt but I never felt immersed whatsoever like I understand its about magical horses but it didn't feel like an open world or a nice community (to me) that my just be me tho I'm very picky with my games (now I feel like I'm hating I swear I'm not)

The 2 major complaints i have are: 1. The normal horses are just as expensive as the special horses now so getting a special breed isn't even that special anymore. 2. I'm Dutch, and I am playing the ditch version (not sure if you can change that, I haven't seen the option) and the thing I hate more than not having the option widely available is the fact that I regularly miss text or just have really bad translation errors. I even missed some dialogue of the main story due to missing translations! That is not okay! It's an expensive game with micro transactions and they can't even be bothered with fixing translations of languages they offer! If they don't have anyone speaking that language in their team, don't offer it in that language or hire someone that does!

it irks me how sso is adding a feature to sit in trot, which is fine, but i am still waiting for them to program the bridles or saddles to hold the reins with one hand like we do in real life while riding western. i think it will be a great thing for realistic roleplays to have proper riding technique in western as well as english. i also hope they fix the jump height so we dont jump like 3 meters (exaggerated) on a half a foot jump- it looks wonky. i hope one day sso will add it. i love your channel!

At the moment my game is SUPER broken, my chat will break so I can’t see what others say or say anything myself, everyone will treadmill sometimes until i relog and if I do it will only fix itself for about 2 minutes, if my chats broken and someone logs on I can’t see the (or even if I just go in and out of my hs or global), even if I’m in a group it says I’m not snd can’t do group races. I have SO many bugs and lemme say, coming out of global and not seeing half the comp team every other run through during comp filming is not a fun experience, and I can’t even say anything cause my chat’s broken 😭 (yes my laptop has the minimum requirements, yes I’ve tried redownloading, and yes I’ve emailed sso (and haven’t heard back in almost two weeks) like it’s making the game basically unplayable for me, they’ve put some of these bugs in the bug fix logs but behold, they have not in fact been fixed 😭

Hi Amelia, if you want for the no posting thing (if your horse is not gaited) you can trot and press shift+w then you should be able to trot, it kinda confuses the game, but at least it gives us a sitting trot!

I logged on and had the global horse market (I’ve not logged on in months) and I hate it. It’s glitchy and just weird. I think a better option would be a quick find feature. For example, you can search a horse and it will tell you where it is. Having not been on the game for a while, I logged on and everything had moved.

Tbh I wish they would just scale our character down to the same size as the updated NPCs. If you stand next to them, for some reason we are not only taller but we are literally just bigger for no reason lol.. The worst part is if we were scaled down some, I really feel like that would fix the scaling of the horses feeling too small. Edit: this might be an unpopular opinion, I think people are being too dramatic about the global store for horses. Idk, I just think it's a feature that's literally so easy to ignore and forget about and you just buy horses the way you prefer to buy horses. Like I understand people are upset because no one asked for it, I agree on that front, but I do think the logic of "it takes away my immersion" is... Not sound. Like you haven't been restricted at all, it's super easy to locate all horse buying locations on the map and there's no one stopping you from just ignoring the global store and buying the horses in person. If anything, most people seem to prefer doing it that way, including myself, because buying in person helps us actually examine the horse better. But.. Realistically, it's not breaking immersion. It's one button that you can just pretend doesn't exist.

Wanted to put my 2 cents in as a western rider lol, SSO has made some huge leaps and bounds to adding more tack and horses that fit a western riding style and it makes me super happy! They still have a ways to go to feel like the world of Jorvik has more than just English riding, and I hope they add western arena props like poles and barrels so it’s not all jumps and ground poles. And, unrealistic wish, but I hope one day they add a second set of starter tack that’s western so it’s easier accessible to beginner players :)

Okay so one thing I’ve never seen anyone talk about is the fact that you don’t feel like playing your character when playing sso. When I sit on my horse I just become that horse and my character sits there like a statue, they don’t move realistic or anything. It’s just a weird riding experience.

Most people who ride western do post trots it’s much more comfortable for the horse and mainly the people who don’t post trots are western pleasure but this isn’t always the case

I haven’t even watched it yet BUT hear me out- I post the trot as a western rider. It’s good for horses to do extended trots, as it doesn’t work them as hard, but slow trots (sitting trots lol) do require a lot. I barrel race so my horse does like going faster, but honestly I guess it’s preference idek HHA

I think with the posting in western it depends, a LOT of western riders do post most of the time including me but yes, we do sit it. and neck reining should definitely be put in the game. I think its most Reiners and western pleasures who sit and neck rein so a pretty big majority.

You can sit the trot, hold shift and w while trotting. The retrofitting pisses me off. My fave horse to ride (the BW) can’t even wear the new tack. I haven’t hardly played the Equestrian Festival because nothing has changed. The quest rewards is stuff we already got and there isn’t enough exchangeable stuff for the tokens to make it worth while.

I play a horse game. Its called Horse riding Tales though I love the game the community is just horrible when its a KIDS game ppl are inappropriate and Mean or Toxic. The report button is dumb because there's no point! The game doesn't even ban them. Yes I agree that SSO ( Star Stable Online) and all the other horse games are way too expensive for kids and everything 😭 Like if you agree 👍

I love star stable but I feel like they make everything TO expensive.I know their a business and rely on money and funds, but the least they could do tbh is add more star rider codes.All the events almost ALWAYS where non-star riders can’t go.I just wish you could play without having to pay a million dollars to get past level 5, especially since it’s directed towards kids.Most kids parents won’t buy star rider for their kid, so i don’t really get the point.
