Good selection of farkles. I ran a top box for about three months. At 45L I was putting too much weight in it, and the weight was too high for my liking. I replaced it with a Harbor Freight box which I use to lock my camera gear in. - Frank

Great improvements and thank you for sharing your thoughts, modifications and solutions. I'm quite interested in the HEED lower crash bars. It looks like you get very close to the brake and shift levers. Any issue with your boots touching the bars instead the levers? Some pictures showing the real dimensions when sitting on the Tuareg would tell the truth. Thanks for your effort. - Arthur

Arthur, I have no issues with my toes touching the lower crash bars on either side and I have size 12 shoes. I do, however, find that my heels catch on the pillion footpegs. Not much I can do about that. Thanks for watching.

Great info and great choice of parts. I’m looking at the Tuareg and ktm890R. Tough choice. I appreciate all the items and locations to purchase. It all helps make an informed decision. Do you have an aftermarket exhaust? Did you change anything to dissipate heat exhaust that others talk about?

Scott, thanks for watching. No, I have not changed the exhaust, nor do I plan to. It would be nice to delete the catalytic converter but that would require remapping the ECU and frankly the bike is fast enough for me already. The heat is still an issue, but I just got used to it and it is only a problem when you are not moving. Tough call on the KTM vs Aprilia. In general terms, I consider the KTM to be more business and the Aprilia to be more pleasure. Sort of an Austrian vs Italian cultural thing. Thanks again.

Hi, I have Double Take mirrors from another bike that I'm going to use with my Tuareg. The screw in balls are M10s. The OEM mirror posts are about 12mm. How did you get the balls of the Double Take mirrors to sit in the holes for the mirrors? Thanks!

Great upgrade on a great bike. I am really curious what is your solution to protect Mosko Moto bags from the heat coming from the muffler? I put a metal plate (different brand) with different bags. I am so lucky that the bags did not touch the plate. The plate was soooo hot. I could not hold my hand on it. I love the bike but the heat is killing me.

I just bought the reckless 80 set up from Mosko. I’m worried about the heat coming off the exhaust. Have you had issue? Is that heat shield enough to protect the bag?

Do you think the heed lowers would be compatible with the OEM upper guards?

Marcos, I do not know if the Heed lower crash bars will work with the factory upper crash bars. The Heed upper and lowers do share an engine bolt and that could be an issue if the factory uppers use that same bolt. I would not be willing to bet money that they would work together.
