Not really that overpowered. It makes one powerful, but it is dependant on one's body's limits. So if one were to push himself way beyond what it can handle, it might cause lasting damage to one's body after Romaticista effect runs out.

Immediately after the fight she's in agony because she went all out. She fights without restraints and in a show like Berserk for example it would be a far darker power. Thankfully this is Iruma-kun and all she's left with is blinding pain in her muscles from using them too much. So not too far off the mark, it's very much a berserker/glamour ability that allows sometime to fight without worrying about injuries during the fight. But the injuries and pain still accrues... it just can't be felt until the spell ends.

It's really just hysterical strength and placebo effect. It's thrown around a lot in fiction but humans really do put unintentional limits on their bodies to keep us from hurting ourselves. Adrenaline and desperation let us break those barriers in some cases. Amelie's ability is the same. She's magically removing her limiters through self hypnosis and using some kind of reverse placebo effect to convince herself that the poison doesn't affect her.

The more of your strength you extract the more damage you do to your own body. Just using your muscles causes tiny tears. But these tears do no noticeable damage and are quickly repaired because you are limiting yourself at the subconscious level. But operating beyond this threshold will cause larger amounts of damage than can be quickly repaired and to accumulate quickly. Basically your body can't keep up with the damage the usage causes and just falls apart. And indeed using too much of that strength improperly can even cause the bones those muscles are attached to break. Assuming the muscles and ligaments don't give out first. But still very possible to extract enormous strength without long term repercussions so long as the usage is very brief and doesn't have any repeat usages like that soon after. Like the anecdotal stories of mothers pushing aside moving cars to save their children.
