Mitrovica is not in Serbia. Mitrovica is part of Kosovo, which used to be called Dardania. All of Dardania and all of Illyria (today Albania) were part of Byzantium and we were all orthodox christians. The churches of Kosova are albanian orthodox churches. Unfortunately during the ottoman occupation most of Kosovo and most of Albania converted to islam. But still there are a lot of orthodox albanian christians(including people from Kosovo which are ethnically albanians). My ancestors converted to islam but I myself didn’t accept it and I am an orthodox christians and that is the faith of my husband also. Most of albanians I would say are not really religious because of being part of a communist country for 50 years. But I see in my country that a lot of people are converting to christianity. Saint Kosmas also preached in Albania and was killed by the ottoman authorities in the city of Fieri. Even Peter and Paul were in Illyria and preached the gospel. Paul tells the romans in his letter that he was looking forward to go to them but before that he had been preaching in Macedonia and Illyria. To conclude I dont like nationalism in christianity and making everything serbian or greek. Paul preached to us too.

You are right to push on nationalities, ethnicity in Ortodox it’s a heresy . Orthodox is Universal faith,a Mystery a Gift of God,each nation ad is one flavor,în is one culture, language, traditions, but the faith remain same. Glory to God!

@elenalugos4477 Saying that Kosovo is not Serbia sounds like ethnophylitism to me.

@@elenalugos4477 to be fair I don’t think the priest is being intentional, i just think he is not informed about this because there is a lot of propaganda , but I don’t think it’s intentional

What a joke... The most nationalistic i philetistic wild tribes of Shiptar slaves from 14th century Sicilia, speaks of non/Serbian Mitrovica, city dedicated to saint Demetrious by Serbian kings and emperor ... And there is one more in Serbia, to be more funny, both in Serbian Srem, not only in Serbian Kosmet
