I am a Christian who cares a great deal about the Jewish people, I do think that Israel returning to the land of ancient Israel is a big deal. That said, blind support for the Jewish people is wrong. To think that God is fighting a physical war rather than a spiritual one is a big mistake. God cares as much about the Palestinians as any Jewish person. And to say that God supports Israel bombing the Palestinian people relentlessly is wicked and wrong. As a Christian, I too felt that an establishment of a Jewish state was scriptural, I believe in it still. What I don't believe in is what has become of that state. I agree that a Jewish state should be allowed to exist, but not at the expense of another population of peoples. I work at the International Christian Embassy in Jerusalem. We have spent the last 44 years proudly supporting the nation of Israel, funding Aliyah flights from all over the world, installing bomb shelters along its endangered borders and advocating for Israel in the international arena. As a Christian, you can not viably detach yourself from your Jewish and Israeli roots without bringing into question, well, basically your entire faith and belief system. Christianity at it's core was founded on Jewish beliefs and values. Yeshua (Jesus, as we call Him in the west), was a Jewish man who went to synagogues on Shabbats (Saturdays) WAY before Christians decided to start going to church on Sundays. Everything about the figure without whom Christianity is completely null and void, is Jewish. His lineage. His beliefs. His traditions. His teachings. His disciples and followers. Everything. Yes, many people forget that to understand the Bible properly you must account for the historical context it was written in. Of course the Bible justifies the erasure of the Amalekites since that was in an era of tribal society and tribal warfare, it was the norm for one tribe to erase another and it was acceptable in that time period. But you cannot take that verse to try and use it in a modern context to justify genocide against an entire people, since we are no longer a tribal society, we recognize human rights. Many other verses are the same, they were valid in their historical context, but you must not try to use them today to justify committing atrocities. The lost Northern Kingdom "Israel" and lost Southern Kingdom "Jews" of "Judah" in Judea, 'disappeared' into history. These two "sticks" have become one in His (Christ's) hand and are called by His name (Christians). The remnant tenth He left behind in the land, witnessed Christ and his ministry firsthand. Many converted and later fled Jerusalem when they remembered His prophesy of it's destruction with the Temple. There is a tiny remnant of "Jews" and descendants of David in Jerusalem, as He promised - only He really knows who they are........

Around the world, I see people who misquote and take out of context verses from the Quran and with that they think they have a way to prove Islam wrong. And the same with the current book some call the 'Bible', likewise some people take out of context verses, misquote and misuse and even do not evaluate the origin of the text to rally for their evil deeds.
