I would recommend you to spend some more time at famous places rather moving places in public transport. US is not at all known for trains. People just drive or fly from one place too another. India is always the best and fun to travel than US when it comes to public transport. Love to Indian railways ❤

You are mistaken . Amtrak's maximum speed is 150 Miles per Hr . That means 241 kms per hr . I am a US resident and once I traveled in this train . Most of American people choose airline service for long distance travels . It can save time . Eg. New York to Florida by train is a 24 Hr trip oneway and it will cost you $300 for return ticket . But it's 3 Hr trip oneway by a flight , you will get a return ticker for $300 .... 😊😊

America prefer freight trains over commercial hence they are in that condition unlike Indian Railways , Americans prefer flight or road rather than rail to travel , also I would suggest not to take that long 20/25 hrs amtrak journey as in the journey it might become 28/30 hrs worst 35 hrs of journey

Dolesh bhai, you are correct in your observation that our train service is not comparable to India, let alone Europe and China. We just haven't invested much in train infrastructure. Mostly people prefer travelling by air or in their own car. Road network throughout the country is excellent and travelling in your own car is both highly affordable and gives you a whole lot of freedom. Acela express runs on the same tracks as the other regional and local trains do. So there is a whole lot of competition for track access by them, which contributes to slowing down of the "high speed" rail. I haven't travelled by Amtrak trains ever in my close to 50 years in USA. Hope to travel on California Zypher (between Chicago and California) and Rocky Mountain Express in my soon to be planned retirement. They are a whole different class and bit more luxurious with private rooms to sleep, including breakfast, lunch and dinner and travelling through some of the most beautiful landscapes in North America. These are multi day travels. Hope you can travel on Zypher.

Quite surprised that you haven't traveled by Amtrak yet. In my 30+ years here, I have traveled quite a few times between Washington D.C., and New York City both in the Acela and other Amtrak regional trains. I too plan to do the long distance journeys you have mentioned. by the way, it is the California Zephyr and not Zypher.

Doles bhai NY aye ho to thik se explore karo bsjot kuchh dekhna dikhane jaisa hai jaise ke Statue of Library , Elis Island Little island at Hudson Bay park, The Edge, use saamne The Vessel and Summit one wanderlust ( its amazing multiple mirror floor) You can have food at Chipotle restaurants etc have to hire Uber or local cab. In Washington DC must visit Aerospace museum, white house, and Kennedy monument, Bus journey ke liye between LA and Las Vegas OR between LA and San Diego-- New Jersey Gaye to Atlantic Beach boardwalk jaana to banta hai. All of these ACELA trains are going to be retired soon... Also, they're not running on the tracks that they're built for... new trains are under testing on the NE Corridor... Acela's not worth the money because it runs at around the same speed as normal Amtrak trains... USA's long-distance train travel is not good at all... Amtrak's being forced to make money and spend on itself by govt... it can't...

I lived in Philadelphia when visiting US. Acela speed is best only between Philadelphia and NYC. The double deck train is New Jersey transit local trains. You should travel in them...its fun. NYC to Boston is waste on Acela. No speed. Too many curves not straight
