Monticello is one of our favorite places to visit. We are retired now, so hope to go to the Harvest Festival in the coming years. What a gorgeous place and the gardens are just magnificent. Thank you for showing it off!

I visited Monticello with my husband last spring and enjoyed every minute of it. It was such a thrill to walk through his garden. Watching this brought back great memories, thanks so much.

Isn’t it amazing how gardening/farming is never gonna be out of style.

Perhaps it’s because *eating* is never gonna be out of style.

It’s also possible Jefferson was “first in Briard.” The breed of my beloved Igby the dog comes from France, and Thomas Jefferson was likely the first to bring Briards to the U.S.

I loved the spinach dish and the squash and apples dish! We use almost the same seasonings to enhance pumpkin and apple pie so it makes sense they'd be delicious together. Happy Thanksgiving.

Hey Allen! It was nice to see you at the Ohio Poultry show a few years back. I was wondering if you ever watched the Victory Garden. I really miss that show and think that you do a good job of filling that void.

@@PAllenSmith Victory Garden was a show on PBS in the 70's/80s. Ran around the same time as This Old house, which you may be more familiar with. Love your show, keep up the good work!

Greg Smith very familiar. Our show runs on PBS as well. Ran right next to it for several years. Some might even say competitors. :-)

I was born in 83, so my memory of shows is pretty slim from back then- I only watched what my parents put on. Would love a link to your old shows. :) @@PAllenSmith

You are the Thomas Jefferson of Moss Mountain Farm. Maybe you should run for a political office ... The squash recipe looks amazing. Thanks for sharing and have an incredible Thanksgiving.

You probably know Allen Smith served Queen Elizabeth for a while when he was in the UK. Washington isn't ready for such kind man like Allen Smith.
