Molly did an interview and kinda hinted that it seemed like a lot of the models didn't like Alexandria all that much and stuff like this really got under everyone's skin. So like it's not her fault she was rewarded but with all the tension in the house production knew this would cause more drama

@@8Joya8 I agree. I think she was very immature. Her reaction was not appropriate but I can see all the things that lead to her blowing up like that and how on edge all the girls probably were to the point that they break like that. She was wrong tho. I sympathize with her because I know how hard is to Express yourself and then kinda blow up but it takes a long time to realize that's not how to communicate and it takes experience growing up and having healthy relationships to realize you are wrong. I didnt like Alexandria but I feel bad for both women for being in that position.

actually at this point, they've lived together for a couple of weeks, and weren't allowed to talk to each other unless the mics were on. If Alexandria is being negative and manipulative in their living situation, that counts for living in a toxic environment, and can understandably make you go crazy. If you weren't able to release your negative energy except when the mics were on, you'd go crazy too. My caveat would be that Brittany did this at the wrong place, wrong time.

I think people also forget how young these models were and the environment they were in was like a pressure cooker. They were cut from any contact. Poked and prodded by production. Sometimes they models didnt sleep or eat enough. Some of them suffered from mental health issues that they weren't aware of at the time (brittany apperantly had anxiety and suffered a panic attack during judging but the judges didnt realize what it was during filming and decided to televise it anyways, this is from Molly's chat on oliver twixt channel interview). So yeah some of them were gonna be pushed to the edge of acting out of character or due to stress or just cause teenagers and young adults are butts growing up. I remember watching this at 13 and thinking all this is real and only recently realizing how toxic these shows are to the contestants and how much production manipulates. Having anxiety isn’t really victimizing yourself. Molly from the same season (who I consider the most no nonsense person on the show) said Brittany ran out of panel because she genuinely had a panic attack, and the judges didn’t take it seriously and treated Brittany as being childish (Molly was super pissed about it in her interview with Oliver Twixt). Yes, Brittany was absolutely unprofessional in front of the client here, but she was otherwise the most professional, optimistic, and well-adjusted person. When I was a teenager, I saw Alexandria as this mean girl that made my skin crawl, but now that I'm older, there's no concrete thing that she did against the other girls. I remember her being intense and guarded, which made her hard to read at times, but somewhere down the line, the girls rationalized disrespecting her and you as the viewer felt like you were supposed to cosign them. In another challenge, another girl put Alexandria in a situation to be sexually harassed by a creepy guy. The group think and the mean girl energy was so disturbing in retrospect, and I'm embarrassed that 17-year-old me ever sided with Brittany.

I mean, I remember she was a little extra at the start, but in no way enough to be hated that much. She just had her quirks and was very confident, had some spine, which... there is nothing wrong with that. She was never shown to be mean or something, even when the other girls attacked her she usually kept her calm and only spoke to defend herself. I think what happened is that her easy-going nature and confidence unnerved the other less confident girls, Brittani first... and then the production, sensing the potential tension choose to single out Alexandria by giving her gifts and all so she'd look like the judges' favorite, essentially isolating her from the other girls and making her a target for their frustration. You have to remember that, at that point, these girls have been locked among themselves inside a house for months with no contact with the exterior, all the while being daily love bombed, shamed, degraded, scrutinized from every angle, gaslit, and then some. Their nerves are very raw, their mental state is poor... all so they can be ripe for reality TV drama. These types of fights are easy to instigate for the producers. I don't know Brittani, but she was probably just really mentally exhausted and insecure, and thus latched onto Alexandria as a punching bag for her frustrations... which was agravated by the producers' tempering. Even though she behaved very poorly and probably shouldn't have won the cycle just for that, I want to believe that she's not an evil person. Her actions shouldn't be glossed over, but it's okay to look at the circumstances too. In fact, I honestly believe Molly looked more evil than Brittani. Brittani seemed very emotionally broken down and insecure, her anger looked more like a twisted way to deal with her own issues... whereas Molly seemed confidently cold and cooly nasty, rolling her eyes and shoudlers with the energy of a real mean girl. But that is just my feeling. In any case, I truly hope Alexandria is doing alright these days and that she found happiness in her life, because it very sad to see what looked like a genuinely happy person's confidence being broken down. It was unfair and the girls crossed the line with her.

Brittni is blaming the way she's acting on Alexandria, but really no one made her say any of what she said. She is responsible for her actions and her words. Just because you don't like someone does not mean you have to say it out loud. This kind of toxic behavior gives off middle school and high school vibes and just shows how immature she really is. I remember 2 of my so called friends did a 3-way call with me in 6th grade. I didn't know the other girl was listening, but my so called friend actually baited me into saying bad things about the other girl. It was something along the lines of she didn't look good in the skirt she wore that day because the skirt was too small. I had casually mentioned that to the friend that did the 3-way call. I had to take responsibility for the fact that I had said something mean and I paid for it by being friendless for a month until the other girls forgave me. It didn't matter how much I apologized.

They made it into a Alexandra vs Britney issue because they knew they could get a dramatic reaction from Britney, and probably gave Alexandra the win as part of the manipulation

To this day I’m convinced that producers egged this on. It’s definitely Brittani’s fault that she acted that way but production saw a Melrose 2.0 (over confident girl and talented girl. With a spine) . I wouldn’t be shocked if producers made little comments here and there about how unlikeable Alexandria was and it conditioned the girls to thinks it was alright to talk about her that way on film. I think this situation was enabled by production but Brittany took the bait and ran with it.

Alexandria did do some problematic stuff, but I didn't really think she was a mean girl. I think her personality just didn't mesh well with the other girls. Ultimately, she seemed to painted as intense and frustrating, but I always felt sympathy for her during her competition, because I could not understand why there was so much hatred coming her way. Brittani was completely in the wrong here, but the panic attack she had during panel was VERY real and it was so horribly mismanaged, and they just made her out to be a brat. Another thing regarding Mr. Jay's feedback, I'm sure he DOES say more positive things, and gives well-rounded feedback but they edit him and his facial expressions to fit the narrative of the episode. Not excusing him at all, but you can tell that some of the things he says are sound bites to make "the show," and a lot of other feedback is just cut out.

Alexandria had a rough past and that kinda hardened her to be this straight forward, no BS person. And that can absolutely rubs the girls the wrong way. People deemed her 'problematic' because she tell you 'straight to your face and doesnt care about feelings' kinda thing. And dont forget that girls arent 100% innocent in the situation. They actually read Alex's diary behind her back in the earlier episode, thats kinda fked up. In the backstage moment in the episode, the viewers can actually see that Alexandria never talk bad about the girls behind their back. She just came across as 'rude' and 'mean' without realizing it. But after this episode her relationship with the girls got wayy wayy better all the way to morocco after they talked it out.

I know this behavior seems very petty, but I have been in a similar situation (being housed together for long times, being stuck together if you want it or not with little to no room to avoid each other and the constant stress of being in a competition ... just not as much pressure as on ANTM). People get really annoyed with each other, because of the close contact and the constant pressure. Yes, that is not an excuse for misbehaving, just an explanation why stuff like this happens (and here the producers try to enforce that behavior for the drama of the show).

I’m so sorry. I lost my mother 5 years ago this Christmas Eve, just before I turned 21. It’s a pain unlike any other. I know you wrote this comment 8 months ago, but I still hope (and will continue to) that you’re taking care of yourself!! Every day is an accomplishment; ANYTHING bringing even the *tiniest* amount of relief during such a dark place of grief is an accomplishment that should be recognized and applauded! Take every day at a time. Be kind to yourself. Losing your mom is *never* something anyone can “just get over” (I hate when people say that), but rather it is our new reality we‘re now forced to live with and navigate our lives around… it is the furthest thing from easy. I know how incredibly isolating it feels at times, having lost your mom so prematurely. From one woman who lost her mother far too young to another-please just know that I am here for you and I’m sending my love to you. It may be excruciatingly painful, but you *will* survive this. Take care. 🤍

When she returned for All Stars Cycle 17, her rude behavior was non-existent and she maintained her passive attitude despite still receiving a lot of hate from the other girls. I remember thinking at the time watching it that I thought Brittani was right on ONE point; I thought Alexandria might be gaming the system. As much as I love watching these ANTM videos I would rather much see the more interesting/serious photoshoots be reacted to instead of the controversial episodes/dumb photoshoots so here’s a few suggestions: Cycle 1’s Snake Beauty Shot (the show’s first “interesting” photoshoot) Cycle 2’s Steve Madden Shoes (the girls got some creative freedom on this photoshoot and got to choose their best shot) Cycle 3’s Nivea Beauty Shots (unretouched vs. retouched; although this episode does have some controversial moments/drama) Cycle 8’s Candy Photoshoot (a campy photoshoot but the photography was cool) Cycle 10’s Castle Couture (Tyra was the photographer and the end results were kinda disappointing) Cycle 11’s Fierce Eyes Underwater (Interesting photography) Cycle 11’s 17th Century Pirates (My personal fave photoshoot from the show, but the photography is GORGEOUS) Cycle 13’s Fabric Beauty Shots (Almost everyone here did great + Tyra was the photographer) Cycle 14’s Nude Photoshoot (The girls had to pick one fashion item and work with it) Cycle 18’s Hello Kitty Photoshoot (Weird concept, excellent execution from most of the models)

Educating ppl on what is not okay and doing the best to hold this show accountable since no one ever really has. What is annoying about your comment of these being "dumb or controversial" is that you deem them to have little to no value like the more "serious" episodes when you say that. So, your basically minimizing the severity of the crap they did to real human beings. Youre implying the trauma these ppl are going through is "dumb" to you. Sad ppls very real suffering that has never been acknowledged properly is not of interest to you.
