Part of the problem is the fact the level of education and just general knowledge across much of the US is similar to the levels in Brazil and the rest of Latin America. Many voters in the US simply don't understand basic concepts of how the democratic process works, or how science is conducted and peer-reviewed etc. Over here in Europe, I think these things are (generally) considered to be something that everyone learns in school.

You can really see the age/educational divide in these individuals, like Taliah is obviously more open-minded and gets a sense of the whole picture; but then you have someone like Brooke who is obviously well-off and out-of-touch with conditions. You can't watch Fox News all day and expect to have a reasonable conversation with people like her, that's just ignorance.

They really are. I just heard that the Fox channel refused to air the part of the DNC with the central park five. So their viewers will never know the lengths Trump went through to frame innocent people for a crime. They will also never know that he built his business by not paying contractors what they were owed. That his "charity" and university were scams... They have never been told this stuff and will act like you're lying to them. No wonder they think the whole world is just picking on him. I don't know what the answer to this is, but it is destroying our country.

CBS is part of Paramount Global and will likely be bought by Larry Ellison's son. Larry Ellison created Oracle.a database management system. I don't think either Ellison are Democrats.

And then Republicans would have a fit that all those paper ballots couldn't be counted in 3 hours. The whole thing is ridiculous. Other countries manage to hold elections in an efficient secure way. Surely we could figure it out without the endless mess. I agree--ID that is free and easy to get. Free ride to DMV that is open reasonable hours for working people. A copy of your own birth certificate should not cost $50. And no one should be in line to vote for 6 hours.

None of them remember covid, the pandemic and what that did. Even if they didn't get sick or knew anyone who died, the pandemic will have a lingering effect on the world for years to come. There's really no point talking to people this ignorant.

Take a good look at who is speaking in this video. It's a microcosm of who is generally listened to, and is part of the problem. Those doing most of the speaking are not living in the neighborhoods where the influx has the largest impacts. Their communities are the areas that benefit after the immigrants stabilize themselves financially and move out of the areas where they opened their businesses and used up city resources including those for health and education.. Their businesses remain in predominantly minority communities as they move into the suburbs. Businesses that the citizens that live in those communities can't get start up loans to open in those same communities as the government and state officials use the tax dollars of those communities to fund the immigrants and their "American Dreams" but not the aspirations of the citizens who've lived there for generations and work just as hard, but aren't afforded the same resources from their own tax dollars as the immigrants. Those citizens who live in those communities are told that they don't try hard enough. No, they aren't given the opportunities, financial, and social considerations that the immigrants are given. No business loans unless the businesses are liquor stores and fast food franchises. The cost of their home loans are increased because of who they are if they can qualify. As the one woman stated, their schools are overcrowded. The community students are in classes where half the time is spent teaching in English, and half in a foreign language. Then people wonder why those students aren't up to par with their suburban peers as if the answer isn't obvious. I'm just being honest, no need to shoot the messenger.
