I love this video. Apart from food, it is about the precious time with family especially they are far away. The video awakens me to connect with “long-time-no-see” family and friends whenever I can. Thanks Niki.

That was really nice getting to see your mom’s side family in Shizuoka. I recently went to Shimizu and learned their specialty (meibutsu) is maguro! Loved their kaiseki don! The people in Shimizu are very nice!😊

Lovely family get together. Should have put your nieces names up! Someone in restaurant while you were talking, laughed the same as you.

Hiiiii sister! I LOVE this video so much! I’m constantly looking at your relatives and in the background of Shizuoka looking for my relatives. One of these days, I’m going to see a familiar face, and know that we’re related somehow. 🤭🤭🤭 Your obasan’s house is beautiful! To see how happy your mama is with her brother and sister, is so awesome to see! Shizuoka is natsukashi for me! Hontoni! And to watch it on my daddies’ birthday, as it’s his entire side that is from Shizuoka. Sisterrrrr! I remember that gigantic shrimp! My obasan took us to a restaurant in Shizuoka known for those very giant shrimp. I actually could not eat it, as it was abnormally large. LOL. How ungrateful was I? I promise that it didn’t go to waste. My daddy ate it for me. Oh, the shirasu! I’m a HUGE fan of shirasu and will always purchase a container, whenever I’m at the Japanese market. I will pour some shoyu on it, and it eat it right out of the container. All of the beautiful food that you shared with us (nama no shirasu and nama no sakura ebi, sashimi, sakura ebi tempura), makes me realize how much I miss Japan! It’s time to go back. It’s been way too many years! Thanks for the memories! ❤️

I have never been to Shizuoka before, but they're supposed to have a famous waterfall there. Also, I've never seen a sandwich in Japan before with any bread crust. Huum...
