American 777-300ER Flagship Business Class Trip Report

I flew Flagship Business on AAL’s 77W back in July 2015 (N718AN seat 4A, LHR-LAX). As my first-ever experience of long haul business, it was incredible! I’ll be flying AAL again in May on their 77W to LAX and back but this time in Main Cabin, so it should be… interesting 😂

Loved your video. American is my favorite airline, and the 777-300 is my favorite aircraft. Flew on an American 777W non-stop from Miami to Los Angeles in November 2019. Had the good fortune to be in seat 1A in First-Class. Only 7 other passengers with me in that section of the plane. Excellent full-service, since this was before Covid.

Yep. Those would be the legacy AA crews. The legacy US flights are a whole different story. Minimal service in all cabins/classes.

I was in it coming home from Hong Kong, and it was awesome. I was short then, so my next time on the Flagship First seat will be comparison between short 5’4” 11 year old vs tall 6’2” 15 year old

I've been on the 77W and love the business class seats. They are really comfortable even for long haul. They lack a little bit in storage (especially for small things) but otherwise is a great seat! Thanks for the review.

I’ve been on that same plane a couple years back from LAX to MIA, obviously before Covid. But since I live in Palm Springs I’ve flown alot of AA since Covid but I’ve never been denied drinks or food. The flight crews in first class seem to be pretty good. However, I can’t say the same about main cabin as it has not been up to par and the flight attendants have not even been nice. I think they are mad they had to work during Covid. Nice trip report Emil❤️👍✈️

I’m flying the 777-300ER to Miami interns up all from dfw in soon. This will be my first time flying this model in the AA fleet. The largest models I’ve flown in the AA fleet so far was a 767 from dfw to Detroit and a 787-800 from Chicago O’hare to DFW. I’m looking forward to South Beach!

I am a Delta/Hawaiian guy and agree with you about AA doing better than Delta during Covid.. I just booked a trip for the Fam and the wife was impressed I didn’t even try to get first class. Not worth $$$ right now. As always amazing content.🤙🏼

First class is expensive right now due to the fact the market has been in decline. Hopefully when it gets competitive again prices come down.

At the same time, airlines like Aeroflot or Qantas are offering a full business class meal with a choice of wines\champagne on similar 2,5 hours long lights. Shame on US airlines with this kind of service in the business. Thank you for the trip report/. May I ask you - how much did you pay for a business class ticket?

I know most people think either the 747 or Concorde are the most beautiful aircraft but I think the most beautiful aircraft is the AA 777-300ER, I love flying in it and I hope to fly in it again sometime!

The 747 in its heyday was the height of luxury and technical aviation. The 777 is a poor cousin that came to the family after its best days. Still a formidable aircraft but more of a super middleweight than a true heavyweight.

The only 2 AA wide bodies I’ve flown on is a B767-200 back in 2008 which was retired a long long time before the 300 version got retired, and I flew on an AA B787-8 once in 2016

I’m flying back/forth MIA-LAX since I’m house hunting out in SoCal, and I’ve noticed in upcoming schedules, almost all flights are 777 but only one departure each way is the 77W. I usually fly Flagship First. I hope it continues 👍🏻

Never have flown any carriers' Triple 7 fleet but it would be an adventure to fly AA's product here on a trans-Atlantic route--you're in Miami,why not? Here you did ask us to wake you when you arrive in London or Hong Kong--or perhaps route yourself on AA MIA-LHR,LHR-HKG on Cathay!

Have flown in those seats on both AA & CX. The difference elsewhere is that the service, catering and lounges (particularly at HKG & LHR) are way better with CX. Just sayin'.

I'm kinda upset that MCO to DFW or back didn't have such flights. Yes it would only be ~2hr+ but still I'd rather spend the money and actually get the most out of it without having to travel cross the whole country lol. Dam our qantas domestic economy get better meals even domestic business on 1 hr flights get full service I've been on AA plenty times on domestic while visiting the service as in food and drinks are just like our budget airline services just tea n coffee n water

I’m not sure about the A319 but the A320 can ( with a lighter load factor and newer version ). The A320 NEO would be more reliable for that but I would rather just grab an aircraft with a lay flat lol.

It seems to me AA’s mixed bag of cabin service boils down to AA crews vs former US crews. The US crews fo the minimum, and spend the vast majority of the flight sitting on their @$$. 1st class on those former US aircraft and crews is a huge waste of money.

You might be right. In my 1.7 million miles I've flown with AA, from / to my home airport MIA, I have never had a bad experience with an AA flight attendant. They've all be really nice and provided at the very least "good" service, though most I would rate "very good" to "excellent." MIA of course is a "legacy AA" hub so I might not be getting legacy US Airways crews on those flights.
