Great work Dan and Cindy. One of the wonderful things about wood is that in the hands of a Master Craftsman/Repairman, with patience and time, even extensive damage caused by the Airlines can repaired.

I have searched several times for updates. I'm a huge fan and still listen to your music alot. Just ordered another cd of yours not long ago to replace one I had worn out. So proud your guitar is repaired. Hello from muscle shoals alabama. Melvin

Excellent work and craftsmanship. We need people like this for sure. AND thank you for sharing the video and explaining the rules about the Airlines Responsibly.

So glad you got this resolved Lionel. I’ve been following your journey and was angry along with you at their carelessness with your instrument. These vintage guitars need to be preserved and played. They’re the best sounding and have such great history. Thank you for sharing this!

Gosh! I remember when this happened! I’m so glad you were able to get it fixed!! I play mandolin, so I hope I won’t have to encounter this with it being small. On behalf of everyone who plays instruments, thank you so much for getting to the bottom of this and bringing this knowledge to light!!

FANTASTIC FINISH to a long ordeal, almost as bad as trying to get through Southern Nights on our TNN show. I bet this guitar was a part of many episodes.🤪

Back in ‘07 I had to fly from LA back home to Montana. When I got home, I checked my guitar. To my surprise my guitar had been played! The sixth string was tuned down to drop D and had sweat stains all over the top. And, all the strings were dead from somebody’s sweaty hands along with a sticky neck!!!😡

A Nashville "A" list guitar slinger told me years ago; don't fly with your best instruments. Find a good/cheap road axe and get it set-up to match your baby.

Well..did you have it in a real road case? A hardshell?

Unfortunately, you can't trust airlines, handlers, and unforeseen travel issues/conditions. On another note, there are many options for guitars that you can choose from to use for travel that don't have a heavy price tag but can perform and give you what you need to perform....then you can leave the valuable ones home.

Lionel, I’d like to ensure it sounds as good as it did before. You’d better come perform in Utah to prove it.

I've never had a problem with carrying my dobro. The worker that trashed your guitar should have been fired. PS, whats up with the duct tape on Madi's guitar?

Baggage people are paid less than fast food employees and they work out in the weather all year round. There’s a major-attitude’s going on out there.

Cheap guitars sound good enough, most can't tell the difference.
@MartinReiter1438 күн бұрын
True, but the performer sure as hell can tell the difference and it just doesn’t feel right.

Take something comparable,but cheaper on a flight like an eastman guitar.

Don't complain about the DEI hire, hey he/she is at least working and if you think you don't need to complain about that baggage handler the pilots going to really make you happy, plus the baggage handler gave Dan some work.

Smashed a silvertone when i was a kid,and had a gretzch acoustic guitar stollen out of the highschool band room. I never dropped a guitar and never neglected or abused any of my instruments after i learned to play better and got better instruments
