I'm an Italian that now live in US. I'm been a fan (ultras) for long time when I was backl in my hometown in Europe. I experienced now the American fans. American fans has the mentality to go to seat down quiet, relax, enjoy the match with a soda in one hand and the hotdog in the other one, seated next to a rival fan... In Europe is religion, is a way of life, is Honor. We do not go to watch the game (also because sometimes it's impossible with all the smoke from the Bengala (smoke bombs) fireworks and general fires hahaha), we go to play the game. We go to war. We go to defend our city from the invaders. We are the 6th player in the basket or the 12th player in the football. American fans get (you guys say lit but for us you are likely cold), when the music in the speakers is great, instead we are the music. Every single team has several songs composed by the fan group which then we sing before, during and after the match. I think that the huge difference come from the History. You guys are young's, really young's. Over there we have thousands of years of History and wars. Europe had tons of wars in the centuries. For us ours team ours colors are inside our blood. Comparing USA fans vs European fans, our best part is that, this passion make us so loud, aggressive and intimidating. Your best part is that you can go to the Stadium/Arena and enjoy the match also with kids and families. In Europe going to the Stadium could means ends up to the Emergency room or even in the morgue in some cases when plays an important match like the 2 rival teams or the 2 team that play for the same city. In some cases we do not take kids to watch a match. We are too much. Die for a sport match is not really smart right...

As someone from south america i can affirm that here is the same thing. You gain an atmosphere thats amazing, its like a battlefield, but the sad part, is that sometimes is not a family event anymore. At leat when the national team plays is al peace. But here in Montevideo, having the big teams all in the same city, going to the a futbol match is not something for the family, and that is kind of sad. We are trying to recover that a lil bit, by separating the most extreme people but still, there is a lot of danger outside the stadium even if you separete them in the match. For a cool south american view of this look for "santos vs peñarol entrada" it was a match between one of the bigggest clubs from uruguay and one of the greatest clubs from brazil. The stadium is just something out of a movie

@@jitox You are right brother. You described the exact same thing that happens in Europe as well. Many times, the stadium is not for families. We are trying to get rid of those "extremists" as well, but you will never be able to get rid of them... I saw videos of South American fans in the past and yes, we are the same. You guys are hot like us. The only difference that I can tell is that it seems to me like you guys focus more on dances at the rhythm of music, instead we focus more on insulting and threatening fans/players/trainers and all the enemy team crew hahaha.

I'm Brazilian, my favorite Euroleague team is CSKA Moscow, unfortunately, the Russian teams were suspended from the Euroleague, after the Ukrainian War, and while this war doesn't end and the Russian teams don't return to the Euroleague, my team is now the Red Star Belgrade (from Serbia)

Those packed arenas are mainly in Euroleague since it's the best continental competition here, although you have clubs with loyal crazy fans in national leagues or 2nd/3rd level competitions like Eurocup.

What you think the oponents feel playing an away game. The crowd realy helps the home team. Screaming, cheering, flag....All to boost moral of the home team and. Ring fear into the others. If the oponents do a time-out...hells breaks lose. The sound is so hard the teammanagers hardly Can give instructions by voice

I love American basketball. It is more fun and it is really showtime. In Europe there are slightly different rules and the game becomes more tactic than spectacular, so sometimes it is a bit boring. NBA is just spectacular. Many American Players, when they come to play in Europe, at the beginning they cannot perform because of the noise of the crowd and the rules. They are having a hard time managing the 6 faults during the game and not too lose concentration for the noise and screaming of us crazy fans. In the US, players have more freedom to play and express themself. In fact, this is why in this last Basketball World Cup 2023, USA made a really bad performance ending in the 4th place. Germany Basketball World Champion??? USA 4th??? It is not normal.... America is not familiar with the international rules. About fans, Europe is unbearable. Africans and South Americans are really hot fans as well, but Europe leads the chart.
