I was going no more than 45mph lost control and slid into a telephone pole. I can’t speak for the newer generation Mustangs but the ones made between 99-2014 were terrible especially for inexperienced drivers

Correction: The Ford GT40 didn't start it all for America, that title belongs to the Corvette that was initially manufactured in 1953. The GT40 didn't come until 1964.

Imo 2014 was a peak for muscle cars because after the became Pony cars. The INSANE rake on the GT500, Chevy making Bangers over all, Dodge having the Viper still and the Challenger was actually able to turn.

Rear mid-engine (RM). Corvettes have ALWAYS been Mid Engine, just Front Mid-engine (FM) until the C8. RMR = Rear (of the passenger compartment), Midship (between the the front most and rear most axles), Rear wheel drive. FMR = Front (of the passenger compartment), Midship (between the the front most and rear most axles), Rear wheel drive. Fun fact: the C5 could have been RMR if GM put the Corvette Indy (production version of the CERV III) into production.

It’s because people be comparing the reliability to Hondas and Toyotas which will last forever without being maintained, while a bmw will also last forever but absolutely needs to be maintained. It’s just the way the manufacturers built them. Honda and Toyota built their engines knowing some people don’t stay up to date on oil changes and stuff, while bmw is making their engine to last long if you maintain it.

Slight correction. While the mid engine layout of the c8 changed the handling dynamics, it didn't inherently improve them. In fact, it has a lot of unexpected problems with handling, especially compared to the exotic cars it's competing with.

Fun fact. The Ford GT was the first road legal passenger car to achieve 300mph and beat the Chiron by 2 months, BUT the most awesome part is said TT GT utilized the oem cast block and heads 5.4L and did the 300.4mph world record in the standing mile. The Chiron took 4.8 miles AFTER hitting 200 mph to get to 300 mph and required 44 seconds to span 200-300. The entire 300.4mph run in the GT took 21 seconds and only needed 10 sec to span 200-300. If people knew how to drive cornering would not be problem. Worry less about looking cool drifting and worry more about the physics of weight distribution, and how it affects the cornering. I think before drifting and pushing the skidpad on average cars due to this, less idiots wrecked in cornering. The Paul Walker death occured because the driver exceeded the capabilities of the car given the road conditions. It was reported by news agencies they specifically took the route they took for the drifting opportnities offered by that route.
