I like your idea about the bases on the ends. I have purchased quite a few Kallistra miniatures to provide some variety for my forces and I used the left over bases from those. Which allow for ranks of five.

It will be very interesting to play this game and use the rules from the "Blind Swords" system games. Much more realistic I guess. Thank you for the video.

Cheers Spencer, much appreciated feedback and thanks for the support. I’m still building my 28mm Napoleonic collection, so no plans for Epic. I’m sure there will others out there in KZbin land who will be on it at some point 👍🏻

Great game. I enjoyed watching the back and forth. I actually would have ruled it a win for the Confederates, as most of their units successfully crossed the barrier and they effectively smashed the center, while subjecting both flanks to enfilading fire. While there are fresh Union companies coming, they would have had to deal with a literal uphill battle against a large Confederate army that is still mostly intact. That said, I respect your ruling, since neither army achieved the stated goal of the game.

Hey Michael, yes I was so close to the same decision, but as you say the victory conditions were to win by breaking the other side. In reality if I was the Confederate General, I reckon I’d be claiming I’d whipped those Yankee’s!! Thanks for the feedback and support 👍🏻

I realyty the lines are now mixed with night setting in it would mean that rebel units would break up and slink back to their own lines OR they would have to camp out on the spot and face the new troops in the early morning.

I am new to the channel and very new to EPIC. Your videos from my perspective are; - Very entertaining - Very well put together - Very well narrated including rules explanations Do you do anything special related to solo gaming? Do you see yourself getting into Napoleonics?

That’s great feedback, thanks Richard much appreciated. If you go to my channel page, you’ll find some 28mm Napoleonic videos I’ve done and I am thinking of recording my thoughts on solo play as I’ve had a few people ask about it. Thanks for the support. 👍👍

Thanks John, yes I was close to the same decision. The victory conditions as set out were to break the other side, so whilst Greene’s Brigade held part of the centre and the right and remained unbroken, it was therefore a close call…glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the feedback 👍👍

In Confederate turn 5, you gave the Confederate small unit a reduced 1 dice, requiring a 6 (31:45), to hit the shaken small Union unit at the base of the larger hill. They rolled a 6, which the Union saved, but you didn't put a disorder marker on the shaken Union unit. Then in Union turn 6, you let Green rally the shaken unit from 2 casualties back to 1, which he couldn't have done if they were disordered. Was this a mistake on your part or have I missed something (I'm still trying to learn the rules myself). If a mistake, did this possibly cost the Confederates a win?

Hey Jeffrey, yes looks like a lapse in concentration, but not sure it would have made a huge difference to the result, well spotted though and thanks for the feedback 👍🏻👍🏻

@@Roll-Some-Dice Thanks for the reply.👍 Enjoying your ACW games but I'm more of a Naps man. Your Napoleonics are coming along nicely and I'm looking forward to part 5 in the '8 Hours' series.

at 15:05 you rolled one 6. i thought if you needed 6's in the first place then you need two 6's to disorder.

Hi, I believe that’s a rule in Hail Caesar. Let me know a page number for that in Black Powder 2 if you have it. Cheers

I don't really use centimeters for moving, I convert inches to a movement unit that works for the scale and make rulers measured out into these MUs or just halve inches, you can make it any measurement you like then like half or even a quarter of an inch rulers or dowel rods. My reasons? To me wargaming is always in something related to inches,🤷🏻‍♂️ except for bases those are in centimeters 😂😂😂 crazy isn't it.
