They are from the Northern part of Nigeria, they aren't Hausas (not all Northerners are Hausas). The groom is from Igara tribe in Kogi State(North Central) while the bride is from Kanuri tribe in Borno State(North East). These families are one of the richest families in Nigeria.

Indimi is not from Kanuri tribe, he's from Kano, but based in Maiduguri, a Kanuri city (his wife is from Chad) and the Groom is not an Igala prince but Egbira tribe in Kogi. In Maiduguri (even though Indimi is extremely wealthy, he's not regarded much, because he's not a son of the soil.

Yeah this is an intercultural marriage, but the bride is ethnically Kanuri from a prominent family and the groom is Ebira from a royal family. Many tribes also partake in henna besides the Hausas. Henna is called lale/lali/lalle in many Nigerian languages, so "sa lalle party" is referring to the bridal henna party. Kanuri wedding traditions include the red dress worn by the bride, incense burning and washing of the bride's hair as shown in the video.

Why's the lady so good at recognising these things though?😀she's actually not Hausa, she's from the Kanuri tribe but northern tribes do have their similarities so I can see why you guessed her to be Hausa. You'll find that the Kanuris have a lot of similarities to the Sudanese people in culture, but they are not the same, they have their own language, customs and everything. Nigeria is actually very diverse, like I'm Nigerian and it even shocks me sometimes. I loved seeing a northern Nigerian tribe in the spotlight this time, much love to all my Naija people all the same. ❤

Most people only know Nigeria for Yoruba or Igbo people but most African countries are incredibly diverse. The difference from tribe to tribe is incredibly different, like religion, the appearance, culture, food etc. I think you wouldn’t think it’s Nigeria because most people outside of africa don’t really understand how diverse each country is. Hausa is actually one of the bigger tribes in Nigeria

Nigeria is different from other African countries...... Nigeria is so so diverse. That is extremely rich in culture...... nigeria is a country with northern Nigeria and southern nigeria...both Muslim and Christian is like 50..50 Northern Nigeria draws its ancestors from North Africa....they are similar to Arabs.....why southern nigeria are king of a little bit westernised.... nigeria has 36 states and 1 capital...... northern Nigeria is bigger than the southern nigeria but the southern nigeria is the vibe of the country..... occupying most positions......almost in every sector..... The wedding is northern Nigeria........all northern Nigeria culture are similar why all southern culture are also similar.....

Henna is an African cultural practice for thousands of years in ancient Egypt and the rest of Africa, particularly East Africans. Because it was popularised by middle eastern people does not mean its origin is from there. Just like circumcision for both Females and Males, which spread all over the Middle East is an original African practice

Hi guys... Yet another beautiful piece! 💜💜💜👏👏👏 So let me just drop my 2 cents... 😂 I'll be commenting on your statement about Nigerian weddings and family support. Generally, in Nigeria, getting married doesn't just involve the couple. It's more like a union of families. That's why before most marriages take place, there must have been lots of investigations, questions asked and very deep background checks to verify the roots of both families. Believe me when I say there are lots of things to be considered. Families would check if their in-laws to be have a history of theft, madness, short lifespan, chronic diseases, domestic violence, you name it... The list goes on and on. I dare say no family is perfect. But once the families are satisfied with their findings, they'll definitely agree to the union. Everyone definitely wants what's best for their children. So once the family gives their approval, they'll support you in every way they can.

This is northeast Nigeria, Bornu State, to be precise. it is the same place where you have Boko Haram Islamic insurgency; religious extremists fighting to overthrow the secular Nigerian State. Maybe you will remember the kidnap of the Chibogu girls/BringbackOurGirls saga. Yes, it is that same region of Nigeria. Nigeria is vast and has many different cultures. Further, this wedding is of one of the wealthiest Nigerian families. The man Indimi is the surrogate of the white neocolonialists/supremacists establishment of the West, which includes America, who have used northern Nigerian surrogates to take control of the oil wealth in their hated southeastern part of Nigeria. A little research on the man Adama Indimi will reveal how much of Nigeria's wealth from oil the man has invested in America while his native land suffers.
