Stan feels more like Cia agent again and cares for his family again. They overused in the new season how dumb Francine and Stan was for the jokes. I know Francine was in the early seasons not the smartest as well but she was never really dumb or worse to her family. Same for Stan. My head Canon is that Roger (and/or his species to various degrees) can bend reality to his will. This explains inconsistencies like Bullock accessing all of Stan's memories as it's was stated and implied to be up to date and not being aware of Roger. He sees what he wants and is seen by who he wants. The flexible timeline but consistent players is explained by him warping time around those in his reality tunnel. It's just a cartoon, bit everything is what we make of it.
