Iv only seen these so far demo'd with NO lighting source in the room at all, how do they do with any other lights, wash lights laser ambient light, or even bar lights if you was in a room with a bar for a party ? Easy to show how they look in a extremely dark room, but no one seems to have done a review with in a normally lit room, which is a shame. Good review as always always enjoy watching

Fantastic video, thanks for keeping up the feed and the effort/time you take to keep your channel current and interesting. Just wanted to add I have tried the cheap chinese import version of these lights, they are ok but the ADJs are a world apart, will definitely stick with known brands such as this. Looking forward to your next vid Joe.

Thanks so much for all your reviews. Can you detail the hardware you used to mount it upright (in the opening scene)? It looks like you have it on top of a mic stand with some sort of adapter. Thanks!

Great video. Am picking up a pair of these at the weekend. Do you know which shows are which? Ie which shows for forward facing/ hanging unit etc? Cheers

What lights would you suggest for lighting a small venue? It is for a primary school production. They'd need to be fairly inexpensive.

Nicely Done! I remember when the cheapest moving head was $1000 each. If a DJ had them, it immediately gave him more street cred because of the cost and knowledge to program them. Now these retail for $200 with great built-in shows and even a remote! Wow, times have changed! Good on you ADJ.

R.I.P. I still have one of these, to bad I got replaced. However there are so many problems with it. But it is still a really great light but it could be better, so that's what adj did.

Amazing review! question.. im looking into buying a 8 set on Amazon.. i wont be using them for DJ setups but yes fot live band shows. so the movement and effects wont be so violent. the spaces are small venues 150 seaters more or less. will these do good? example would be one of the bands do a Genesis tribute, others just Rock and roll. thanks !

I want to use these in a mobile DJ setup. I am going to have them plugged into a relay which I can use a on/off switch with. My question is, if I have it set up like this and its in sound active mode, when I hit the power off button and then again to bring it back on, will it start back up in sound active mode or default to some other setting?
@7dollarhaircut
@7dollarhaircut 6 жыл бұрын
You’ve probably figured this out by now, but putting these (or any moving head) on a power relay will work if your plan is to turn the lights on before a show and off after a show, but using the relay to turn the light on /and/ off /during/ a show is a bad idea. Moving heads go through a several second “boot up” period during which the heads move and make clicking sounds while initializing the head pan/tilt location.

Great little light for sure! I've been thinking about grabbing a couple myself. As for mounting it horizontally you would be ok with this light. ADJ has been mounting them on their sides at NAMM and MobileBeat with no issues. It's light enough that it won't effect the gears. What stand are you using to mount the one light? (the one that isn't on the truss)
@jldjukvideo
@jldjukvideo 9 жыл бұрын
Personally I wouldn't mount them sideways. Just wouldn't risk damaging the motors and I prefer to use mover either hung straight down or sitting on there base. The stand I was using in the video was just one of my photography light stands. It was just for while I was shooting the video.

***** That's fair, to each their own. Thought that stand looked little thin to support it while moving. All the best and great videos!

I own 2 of these and im having some problems with them. They are great lights but after 2 weeks the fan on one of the lights is doing a whine sound I had that light replaced and now the same happened on one of the lights Anyone who has this problem? How did you fix it?
@jldjukvideo
@jldjukvideo 9 жыл бұрын
Are you rigging them correctly? These lights aren't designed to be mounted at 90 degrees as it damages the motors
@TVM_Media
@TVM_Media 9 жыл бұрын
i've never rigged them in 90 degrees only up and down. ive had a party and i used them all night with the problem happening and it looks like it stopped doing it. maybe the fan has tired down.
