Leo Tavarro Valdez and Jon Jon Briones are my favourite Engineers, and both have their own unique take on the character and this song in particular :)

"Who knows? Maybe in 20 years, we'll all be enjoying MISS BAGHDAD. " Haha, nice dig at the Iraq War, which has been compared with Vietnam.

musicaltheatergeek79 miss saigon was made based off the vietnam war, so having a miss baghdad implies that they'll write a musical about the war happening in the middle east currently.

Where is that American alcohol lady with the fancy car part? That is the 'organism' of this scene. Obviously because of the physical limit of this Australian sucking cinema, they cannot do that part, but just use a video on the screen instead. This makes the scene lose its spirit. Poor Australian ppl.

+Sam Paul This was a performance at an award ceremony and is therefore really just a concert version. Full set and production would be sitting in another venue probably in a completely different state.

His take on the role is interesting, but frankly it lacks the punch of Pryce's Engineer, where Pryce made you feel he truly believed it, while still being in on the joke of all, Valdez plays the cynicism up too much. Still fun to watch.

I was at a cabaret last night and Valdez performed the song. It was far better than any recordings I've seen of Jonathan Pryce and much more nuanced than his performance here. I'll try to post it soon!

jonathan price has more sex in his performance! not that this is crap, but i just prefer JOnathan! :)

I am glad he is different from Jonathan Pryce , as much as I love him as the engineer. each actor should bring their own style of performance to a roll .
