Took me back a long time when I saw the Denman Hotel. Growing up in the 50s & 60s, my grandmother's house was behind the Hotel, in Harle Street. Turned down that side-street beside the hotel a great many times...

Great episode ol mate! Never had a Drifter, but I once owned an ex Police VJ Ranger with a 265 auto. Was a weapon in a straight line as far as I was concerned lol

My dad had a moonstone sportspack panel van with a hot 360 in it, but he still has a white Drifter 318 4 speed panel van with a genuine drifter tent, I love that you are covering these rare cars and its so cool to see someone with the same excitement I have when I see one!

My first car was a Charger back in the 80’s terrible in water it would aqua plane terrible in corners - but a ripper in a straight line with no wind - everybody would give you the charger sign while driving ✌️ The cops back in the day drove chargers around everybody called them Candy Cars. This American's first drive of an Aussie built classic is a CL Val. Made my year. Two wishes that weren't fulfilled in this feature. A line up of the three and to see how well they did the front of that model. Was chuffed to see a good shot of you driving the drifter van.

Seems I've suffered a comment removal! 😵 Peter Wherret has tested the VJ Charger 360, CM Valiant Hemi six as well as some Falcons, Toranas and an XD, plus some Japanese cars from the time. He felt no hesitation in saying what he really thought as the cars were still new back then. Very insightful viewing.

I am a bit hesitant about correcting what an owner said about the first Valiant Pacer at 13:22, but the Pace was not exactly brought in , but it was developed and built by Chrysler Australia, unlike his 300 : kzbin.info/www/bejne/mqeQYqtnqLWcis0 as a bargain performance car at the time compared to other much more expensive cars on sale then. Not the fastest of all, but best performance per buck. Maybe he meant the Pacer was "introduced: in 1969. So did AMC get permission from Chrysler Australia to use the Pacer name later on.
