In the 70's Quiapo Church was called the best Baroque Church in the Philippines the interior resemble the St. Peter Basilaca with exposed beam and ornate classical ceiling with santoses in life size around the pillars I was wondering why the goverment allowed the modernist to vandalized this iconic church

@@kaKZbinro San Agustin Church and San Sebastian Church this two churches survived the hand of modernist vandals all churches in Manila was modernized some were demolished for the sake of modern architecture, one church outside of Manila that survived the war had been demolished and modernized this is the Antipolo Church this church had been the center of a summer pilgrimage that were practiced by the Virgin of Antipolo devotees for centuries it was a beautiful church we can only see the beauty of this church in old Amorsolo Paintings the The Altar was immortalised by Dr. Jose Rizal through his visit to Antipolo it's a tradition in Spanish time that a visitor to this church will draw the altar as a souvenier in the padt decades modernist targeted old popular churches abd architecture without any regrets to it's historic value
