Glad you guys had a wonderful durian indulgence fresh in Malaysia. Black Thorn is actually "genetically modified" with years of research to find the best combination for non durian lovers (because of the smell profile), if you have noticed it, it hardly smells like durian; which is why Logesh still feels Musang King is the utmost favourite because for a die hard durian lover , a durian without the pungent fragrance (or stink when it is not fresh) is not a durian. 😅 When I tried Black Thorn for the first time when it was first introduced several years back, I felt "half done". It's like my eyes told me I had durian, but my brain kept telling me "something is missing" 🙃 Next time if you have another visit here, try out "Black Gold Musang King". It is now me and my parent's new favourite because it is the Musang King profile but not overly sweet (like ice-cream). I saw iChang's vid talked about "D110" that is going to be the next target. Other than that, Udang Merah is also nice, and you can see the flesh looks "redder". (close to orange)

Long time ago, the Agriculturist at MARDi Kuala Kangsar experimented and produced the Durian d24. It was an old "brand". I loved it

Our ctry R&D dept for fruits that is MARDI has produced more than 400 clones of durian varians with patterned coded name including Musang King, D24, XO, Blackthorn and many more.

*Great episode and always the Musang and Red Prawn are the best type of durians and they both tasty when cook in Green Bean Coconut Porridge or Bubur Kacang and also top up this durians on Ice Kachang or Chendol cos the taste will be so heavenly*

I'm a crazy durian lover, tried all types and my favourite is Musang King..and no other can match it. You guys should try to look out for Durian Gangsa. It's very rare but it's worth trying.

FUN FACT : If you plant just the seed of musang king, it will not come out as a musang king. Tested it. It will taste almost like D24. You have to kahwin the musang king tree with D24 tree to get Musang king tree that we eat nowdays.

wow, I remember a bunch of durian stalls at the corner in SS2. Now there is literally a big durian shop. I actually did my college in SS19, just a walk away from that traffic light junction. Dinner at the mamak just across from that police station. Old memories!

I tasted durian when in Malaysia n I can't understand why it be called king of fruits...it tasted so garlicky n the smell did wet my eyes..I couldn't eat it but I believe it's a delicacy for most malays

There are Malaysians who do not eat durians for whatever reasons. Can't blame them. D24 is almost similar taste to Musang King but the seed is big and the flesh is thinner as compared to Musang King.

The best experience for eating durian is at the orchard, fresh from the trees, sitting flat bare on the ground and grass. Enjoying it with your family. Doesn't matter what the durian is. :) p.s. Not the 'commercialized' orchard. But the individually own, pakcik makcik ones :)

I miss durian season this year, being in Ireland. Last year, I tried everything but XO and Black Thorn. Before marrying my then Irish boyfriend, he had to pass the durian test. Cannot makan, cannot kahwin 🤣🤣 He passed! He loves his durian and enjoys it like Rachel does.

Durian should be taken in a certain order. Musang King flavour is very strong and intense as you mentioned. If you take the stronger favoured durian (musang king and like) first, then the D24 and others will taste not as good.

You said that you wanna plant durian in America, that's not gonna work. First you need whole year of hot weather for durian, second you need slop earth profile for the flowing water, that's the reason Malaysia durian is so good
