No point of spending beyond 6k per month on this card. No point of spending more than 20k per month on mrcc. Better to get both if you can spend 26k per month. If you have higher spends better to get plat travel card as well for milestone points. Amex trio

Charge card does not work entirely like credit card. A charge card payment has to be done fully. You can’t roll over credit or convert the dues into EMIs in charge card.

For me also Mrcc is better than gold card , with two milestone benifits and fee reversal @ 1.5L

MRCC gives only 2x on reward multiplier, where as Gold gives 5x Amex Gold 100 - 0.67% Reward multiplier 0.67x5x = 3.33% i.e 10 points on 100 6k via portal gives 8.89% cb Amex rewards Reward multiplier 0.67x2x=1.33% i.e 4 points on 100 20k via portal gives 4.67% cb 6k via portal gives 6.89% cb 14k via portal gives 3.71% cb

And who will deduct the yearly fee of Rs. 4500/- + GST from total earning. Hope you know Amex Gold doesn't have fee reversal criteria. And second thing for Gold Charge max earning can happen only at a spend of Rs. 6000/- per month. Any amount greater than that and this card becomes worthless.

Very informative video sir. I already have amex mrcc and plat travel cards as FYF. Would you recommend to take the gold charge card for milestone benefits for first year? Cz from second year onwards due to the renewal fee if any renewal offer is not provided, the reward rate will be less

You are still getting great value in year one and you can always surrender in second year if you don't get enough benefit. They are charging 1500 fee including gst in first year and giving 6k reward points if you go by referral. Then you can easily earn 19k points through 6k monthly expense. Overall you are getting 25k points by spending just 1500 so no harm in taking for 1st year and then you can negotiate in second year.

The main difference is that you have to pay back your spendings in whole at the end of the billing cycle (can't pay a minimum amount). The other difference is that the credit limit increase is automatic and for some really expensive purchases, you can talk to them and confirm that you will pay whatever the amount is in most cases (assuming you have a good credit score)
