FWIW IRL the Hoss's personal servants were not Jews, they were Jehovah's Witnesses. Hedwig was not lying when she told her mother that their servants weren't Jews. But that fits with the film's thesis - Hedwig is able to respond so nonchalantly because she wouldn't see the problem if the servants were Jews anyways, completely ignoring that her mother is asking the question out of fear.
