What a fun romp through the iconic history of the AFL. They were upstarts, revolutionaries, and the players and fans alike just loved good, innovative, sparkling football. Great video!

The nfl should be grateful and appreciative of the afl. Without the afl, the nfl would have continued to be boring games of 3 yards and a cloud of dust with guys who just wanted to break someone's leg. The afl brought excitement and a game that highlighted their very talented players

From a different documentary: Flipper was meant to do a flip with each score. The Miami Dolphins (expansion year 1964) were so bad they decided that Flipper would flip after every first down as well.

I loved watching AFL games at 4 pm on Sundays as a kid. An era we can only reflect back on. The game the players the fields ,personalities and stadiums are and will always be iconic for me. When men not immature,l tattooed goons plays the game appreciated by the average Joe.

It was great that after the merger, all the AFL teams stayed in one conference together, not like the ABA where they were randomly dispersed when it merged with the NBA.

I remember when they played professional football on Sundays. Seems like it was so long ago. Today’s NFL is a choreographed, entertainment product reminiscent of football.

College and pro is decided by whomever pays off the referees. That's been going on for decades. With so many camera angles over the past 30 years, it's so damn obvious and disgusting.

@@gregsears-iy6in Yeah, my dad was a huge Namath fan. He followed him from the Alabama days. When Namath was still mobile he was amazing. Bear Bryant said he was the best athlete he ever had at Alabama. Maybe a bit hyperbolic but obviously he valued Namath greatly.

Al Davis copied the Los Angeles Chargers 1960 original shield logo. Al Davis was part of the Los Angeles Chargers coaching staff 1960 birth season through 1962. Al Davis then left the Chargers coaching staff in 1962 to become the manager of the Oakland Raiders in 1963. Al Davis obviously copied the the 1960 L.A.Chargers original shield logo and added it to the Oakland Raiders pirate logo in 1963 because coincidentally the original 1960-1962 Oakland born Raiders pirate team logo didn’t have the shield logo in their original birth year of 1960-1962 until Al Davis joined the Oakland Raiders in 1963 then added the shield logo to the pirate logo. Raiders copy cat shield logo but the true Original L.A.born Shield logo is the Original Los Angeles Chargers battle horse shield logo. Da Da Da Da Charge!!! ⚡️🐴 🏈 Let’s Go Los Angeles Chargers!
