- The huge background at the beginning actually forms see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil. - The Save Me you noticed is also a song of theirs. If you turn it upside down it says I'm Fine. They're sister songs describing an inner lonely turmoil vs getting emotionel support from the outside. If you watch them live they have a fluid musical transition from one to the other. - The fire was enhanced (but it was there) and of course V's phone and the shadow of Jungkook's hands were CGI but they freakin built the rest of it! - There're a lot of storyline references in this video so some of the imagery might not quite make sense if you don't know it, like the hooded figure at the end. - If I may make a suggestion I think you should try Dionysus next. It's artistry described through the greek god Dionysus, god of wine, performing arts, abundence, etc. Amazing song!

In short with the James thing, he made a poorly phrased joke on his show in which he implied that BTS speaking at the UN was "unusual" and that their fifteen year old girl fans were probably interested in politics for the first time just to watch them. Sigh. The whole "all their fans are teenage girls" trope is a huge sensitive point with their extremely diverse and largely not teenage fanbase, so it was one of the worst things he could have chosen to target as a joke. And since this was the third time BTS has spoken at the UN, and they went their as official diplomatic envoys of their government, people found his jokes about their presence their distasteful, particularly since he made no effort to acknowledge the very real and important issues they were speaking on. It's things the fanbase is just used to hearing now, but it created more backlash because he has always presented himself as a fan of BTS himself and as supportive of them and their fans. So there was a sense of betrayal tied to the jokes that were already in poor taste.

This song is just is passionate and the video is pure art. They built insane sets for this and no one films videos like them. The imagery in their videos is beyond complex and this also ties into BU (BTS Universe the complex story thread running for years now - for ex JHope on the pike of candy is a reference to his mother in the story abandoning him with only a candy bar). We always love BTS. Glad you enjoyed it.

I love this song. My daughter introduced me to BTS almost 3 yrs ago now and this is the first song I hear from them. But I really didn't start listening to BTS til just last yr during lock down and it give me time to actually listen to the music and learn more about them as a group and as people and I just love them. I totally fell down the rabbit hole and have listened to all the albums (except the Japanese albums) but have listen to the Japanese original songs which always hit differently. My favorites being Film Out, Let Go, Your eyes Tell, and Stay Gold. It looks like you have only started and have a lot more to go through and their solo song are another thing too. They just have it all. Jimin's song Promise, Jin's song Epiphany, Jungkook's song Begin, V's song Sweet Night, RM'S song Reflection, Suga's aka Agust D song The Last, and J-Hope's song Blue Side (the full version) and so much more. Have fun going through their music.

I'm not sure whether you've already known about it, BTS had their own fictional story throughout some former specific MVs and short films. Based on the fictional story, Jhope's mom left him in the amusement park with the snikers bar in his hand when he was a child and never came back. So the scene with jhope lying on the snickers bars represents his trauma about 'fake love'. Water with jimin and fire sceneswith suga are also related to each character's trauma in the storyline.

Save me/I'm fine is very known ambigram (not only BTS related, but WAY older), a picture that says one thing one way and flipped upside down it says another thing. - Those welcome mats that say "Welcome" as you come into the house and "Go away" when you leave, are ambigrams. ONE of the histories of this ambigram is a depression and suicide awareness campaign by an organization called Samaritans of Singapore. And through that it blew up into internet in 2015. But it is a way older than that. 💜

If you like the lyrics.... A MUST is watch the video BTS explained by Korean... Daechwita, Intrude Shadow. Idol and Black Swan... !! BTS music and MV is filled with references history, literature, mythology, artworks, classic music, psychology... and more. One of my favs is Daechwita which is filled with references to Korean royal history. It is not only a diss track for haters, but also to the Korean establish KPOP industry. It also a double meaning regarding fame... you can follow up by watching Interlude Shadow which is filled with reference to Carls Jung the grandfather of psychology. The entire Map of the Soul album is filled with his concepts regarding the mind. If you read some concepts of Carl Jung the albums as well as songs/MV like Black Swan will be enlightening. :)

This music video is part of the Bangtan Universe, so a lot of the imagery is related to the storyline. :) Fake Love was part of the second album in the Love Yourself series, which builds on the conflict of trying to love others at the expense of loving yourself. It is a lead of to the final album in that series in which the songs Epiphany and Answer: Love Myself conclude that we must learn to love ourselves. :) There was no "who" at the end...it was a cloak and mask hanging on a coat hanger. "Masking" yourself was a theme in that album.

Save me and I’m fine are both bts songs, love how there’s meaning in the smallest details. Fake love is also part of the BU. If you haven’t heard of it you’ll come across it eventually :) Meh, the James Corden thing really isn’t much imo, he implied that their appearance at the UN general assembly (speech and performance) was weird, and that bts fans are all 15 yr old girls. Or at least you could interpret it this way if you’re being sensitive about it. I think some ARMYs took offence due to the perceived “closeness” of their relationship and that bts has a history of being used and tossed away. But the reality is he’s a comedian, their relationship is a business one that benefits both parties, and he could’ve said this or worse about anybody else and not been “cancelled.” Don’t get me wrong, I don’t love what he said and how he said it either, but sometimes I feel like our fandom digs it’s own grave with some of this stuff. I love us but we really gotta work on not cancelling people lol I think it’s mostly younger ARMYs. It does our boys no good.

@@juneseghni right! I love that we stick up for ourselves and BTS, it’s how we got all the way here! But when we gatekeep so hard we’re gatekeeping BTS from further achievements too. I know it’s a strong statement but I hope our fandom isn’t looked down on in history. When people look back I know we all want them to marvel at BTS’s innovation and not attribute the unrivalled popularity to anything negative.

YES Thank You!!! Even though I'm a 39 year old fan (I just can't call myself ARMY anymore b/c of stupid sht like this) I understand that these relationships with western personalities are business for each and very good business at that. Fans are taking it too far by their behavior and it is going to end up making the fandom live up to the things others say about them. There are already complaints by some friends in one of my discords from the horrible treatment from "army". It also makes BTS look rather weak as grown adult men that can't take care of themselves...
@melwigs3 жыл бұрын
@@Cozycultcreations I’m trying to just remind myself that we don’t have to associate ourselves with these people just because we have a strong community. The internet is a breeding ground for excessive behaviour and unfortunately it’s those least stable of us who are the loudest. Sometimes it seems like it’s the most of us but remember it’s a minority. There are more realistic/stable/mature/intelligent ARMYs than not💜

The MV does not necessarily go along with the lyrics. This MV is a part of the Bangtan Universe. If you ever do a series of the BU you’ll understand the MV better. Fake Love is on the second Love Yourself album. The first album, LY:Her, is about finding that fated love, that perfect love we all dream about. The title track is DNA. That love is in their DNA. The second album is LY: Tear. This talks about that perfect love being torn apart. The title track is Fake Love. Changing yourself to become who your partner wants you to be. The third album is LY: Answer which gives us the answer to finding love. And that is by loving yourself first and being true to yourself. The title track is Idol, which is a celebration for loving ourselves.

I honestly cannot imagine an ARMYs who find fault in BTS music videos. Sometimes fans want to express a preference for live performances. But I would be more inclined to think fans from other fanbases simply are trying to divert your attention hoping for more reactions to their favorite group. That occurs a lot in BTS reactions.

There is a lot of “shadow work” from a Jungian perspective as they seem to confront their own shadow self as JK sees through their defenses. You can also see Winnicott and the idea of burning things down to see what is real. And Klein’s idea of the split we form of “all good/all bad” when confronted with our own selves and what we are uncomfortable with about ourselves…
