Nice . Don’t forget, the white body dolls had flat white strings. They changed the body color to skin tone in preparation of Felicity’s release in 1991 due to her 18th century gown styles showing her chest. Most white bodies stopped in 1989. Also, the factory would use old tags etc that were still around rather than waste them, so sometimes you will see a 1986 tag on something that was not even made yet. Lol. People get confused at times about it and it really is not that important really at all. Be careful not to over pay for something that is much more common than you think. Although expensive at the time, a lot of young girls in the 80’s and 90’s were getting these dolls. Also, beware of so called “ signed” dolls. Pleasant Rowland’s signature has been forged more than once. Hope this helps some.

I don’t understand why the ethnic dolls didn’t sell well, they are so pretty. Thank you, I’m just learning about these dolls.

Thank you so much Rachel, Kathy, and Paul💖💖💖!! I really learned a lot from Kathy about identifying the Dolls😃😃!! Samantha is really a beautiful Doll and it is amazing that her 1986 version is worth up to $1999.00 to $2000.00😯😯🤩🤩!! Of course it is just interesting to know what some are worth, but the American Girl Dolls are all so pretty and sweet looking they look priceless to own💖💖💖!! My favorites are: Sonali because she has a loving face, Girl of Today with blonde hair and green eyes, Addy in her beautiful yellow eyelet dress, Dreamers Kristen and Molly, and Samantha!! Thank you Kathy for this intense lesson of all the details to look out for when at a garage sale, thrift shop, or yard sale in identifying American Girl Dolls💖💖💖!!

I think the years are more fluid than a lot of people claim. I have a Samantha I received for Christmas no later than 1994 (I have a letter to Santa dated 1995 asking for accessories for the doll I already owned). But some of her details don’t match the info I see on the internet. For example, she has the type-faced PC neck stamp this video claims is 1995 and later only.

Thank you for your help with reattaching the American Girl dolls limbs. I just finished my Kaya doll. It worked perfectly. Now I have 7 more to do. You have saved me a lot. Thank you so much.

Funny enough, my mom bought Gwen and Sonali as a bundle from QVC or HSN, can’t remember. Always thought it was odd they were sold on the tv lol. Wanted to repurchase them both until I realized they were rare and htf…. Maybe one day I’ll save up and splurge for some nrfb girls.

I wish someone would tell the resale platform sellers that their dolls aren’t worth as much as they think they are. It’s insane how artificially overpriced some dolls are, especially Samantha.

Can anyone tell me why Kit (who was released in 2000) has a different neck stamp with no letters/numbers than the dolls made by Mattel who took over Pleasant Company in 2000?
@kristalynn787711 ай бұрын
Yes! I was wondering this too! It totally doesn’t make any sense. That kit made in the early 2000s should have a numbered code under pleasant company since Mattel took over in 2000…
@margaretespinoza449210 күн бұрын
I hear that Pleasant company was sold to Mattel in 1998, but I could be wrong. Also, Kit was the last doll Pleasant Roland advised on.

What if you have salmon color cups on a white bodied doll but a straight neck stamp? 🤔 Salmon arm/leg cups were on the earliest dolls, but straight neck stamps as opposed to curved were on the later white bodied dolls sooo I’m confused 😐

Please help. My mother in law recently passed away. She had (and now I have) an original 1991 Felicity doll. I don't know what to do with it. Felicity is in the original box with the cardboard Pleasant Company ribbon(?) around the box. Felicity has been removed from the box but has never been played with, her bonnet hasn't been removed, and her hair is still tied up. She is dressed in the rose garden gown, red necklace, socks & shoes. It includes a handbag, 2 small embroidered ribbons that say "Wove With Love For Lissie 1774" (I think they are garters for her socks?), the Meet Felicity hardbound book & cover (in mint condition) and the small hair care brochure is still attached to her wrist. This doll and her accessories seem to be in better condition, and more complete, than most of the ones I see for sale on eBay for $100-$200. Should I just sell it for that amount or try harder to find out its true value?
@RachelHoffmanDolls Жыл бұрын
I can’t answer that for you. It depends on how much time you have to shop around trying to sell it or waiting for the right customer to pay you more.

I want to go through my ag dolls and sell some of them. One very dark skined one I can't find out who she is. She is used in perfect condition. Her hair is very much like Melody's except she has no bangs. Hair is parted on the right. I have looked for hours. Any suggestions. Love the video. Thank you. God bless

well as a 96 era kid no wonder I hated the white dolls they all looked dead to me having no face paint! I ended up with later mattel ones cause I find they look nicer unless I find an early doll in amazing shape

Ok around 17:05 she said the textured hair dolls in American Girl of Today/Just Like You/MyAG/truly me didn’t sell well obviously they did if they last long as they did the #18 lasted from 1995-2008 #15 lasted from 1995-2007 or 2008 and #1 lasted from 1995-2009 those dolls were around longer that some of the other AGOT of dolls and some of the early GOTY dolls too it’s so sad to assume that ethnic dolls don’t sell with that belief system that’s why AG half-assed Gabriela McBride on purpose

I have seen Nellie dolls with "American Girl" stamped on the back of the neck on Ebay and I wonder if this is legitimate? Shouldn't those dolls have a Pleasant Company stamp on their necks if they are? Wondering when the "American Girl" stamp came to be used?
