what snack items do you have in mind? I follow these gals and love their content bit also really love suggestions from people who live in the countries they're reviewing.

@@boontindo Depends on what your favourite type of sweets are - like the States we have a plethora of choices and for every best selling product there is a knock off cheapy version (such as the pickled onion rings in the box - Monster Munch Pickled Onion are, to me, the pinnacle of pickle onion snacks).

Wine gums are fruit flavoured. They are classed in the UK as old people gummies.
@jacobuponthestone90932 жыл бұрын
I didn't know it was old people candy but I've had them and they are definitely just fruit gummies.
@ulyssesthirteen70312 жыл бұрын
Pipers aside, I've literally never seen those brands before. They all appear to be 'knock off' versions of better known brands, perhaps the kind of thing you'd get from a Pound Shop (or Dollar store) rather from a supermarket/newsagent/sweet shop etc. Maybe your reactions might have been more positive if you'd have a better selection of more typical brands.

the oat cake or what we call 'flapjack' is made from butter, golden syrup, sugar, rolled oats, we make them all the time for school pack lunches. we also make them and coat them with carmel toffee or black treacle toffee for 'guy forks night' easy to make mix the sugar, syrup and butter to gethe rin a pan until miced then add oats,, place on a tray about an inch thick then leave to cool, once cooled cover with chocolate or icing, or toffee, you can also mix in dried fruit like currents, raisens, sultanas, dried choppe dleon and orange peel.

Star Burst were originally called Opal Fruits created in the UK, Opal Fruits were introduced in the United States in 1967 as M&M's Fruit Chewies and later as Starburst. The brand was introduced by Mars in the UK in 1960, named Opal Fruits by Peter Phillips (known as Peter Pfeffer at the time), the winner of a competition that won him £5. Produced at their factory in Slough, Berkshire, the four original flavours were strawberry, lemon, orange and lime.

45 years living in the UK, never heard of any of those brands. If you want real British snacks sent to you, free of charge, just set-up a P.O.Box, and your viewers will send you loads. Check KZbin and you will see that others have done this, and have got loads of sweets/candy/snacks.

As with the vast majority of commenters, I too am from the UK and only ever seen two of these brands, Millions and Piper's crisps. With the rhubarb & custard sweets (candies) they're classed as an old fashioned sweet and usually are a boiled sweet. Other variants are strawberries & cream, blackcurrant & liquorice, rosy apples, pineapple chunks and cola cubes. The wine gums are a very cheap version of Maynard's. If you get the chance try the red & black bag. To me they don't taste as wine. The Millions shouldn't be eaten individually, put a penny/cent sized pile in your palm and stick it in your mouth. Also, the sweets need to go in the mouth whole and not nibbled on. A lot of the time there's a liquid centre or the flavouring is in the middle. Also, chewing the whole thing will release a bigger flavour. We have a similar company in the UK doing the same thing but in a box that size we get a drink. Is there that option with you guys?
@johnmcaleer70992 жыл бұрын
Our usual brand of chips/crisps is walkers aka lays. And we don't have grape flavour its usually blackcurrant.🇬🇧 Ps McCoy's is also a brand of thick cut or ridge cut crisps🙂

rhubarb and custard was one of britains best hot deserts, boiled rhubarb then placed into a pan covered with a pastry crumble baked, served with a covering of custard... or cream...

While some of these may not be the main brands, Im 5 items into this video and I recognise 4 of them. Genuinely surprised how many fellow brits don’t recognise them. Maybe they’re more northern products?

Yeah, I'm English but live in Scotland and have seen pretty much everything here. Southerners always think they represent everywhere in the UK.

Wine gums typically aren't flavoured with wine, usually they are assorted fruit flavours. They were designed to be marketed as an alternative to alcohol back in 1909, inspired by the owners teetotal Methodist father.

The owners of the company are really cutting costs with these classic flavoured but lesser known branded snacks. They should be sending you the most popular uk household brands to get a true reflection of taste and quality especially as your probably paying over the odds. Looks like a lot of the items are from a pound shop,very poor.
