@@TheRealKnightRaider it was probably 10 ft. They toyed with an actual competition in the water, "depth charge" but decided against it because not all the contenders were strong swimmers, and drowning might have been a real possibility. Probably a good choice.

I don't think Human Cannonball will ever make a return, because the risk of Injury on the Gladiators. I'm sure it was the one event they hated in the original seasons, because they had little control over flying off their platform. But I'd like to see some of the UK Events added if AG ever makes a return. Suspension Bridge, which is sorta like The Joust, only your goal is to get by the Gladiator on the bridge. Pole-Ax which is a climb on a spinning cylinder and the winner has to hit the button at the top. and finally Pursuit would be a nice addition which was a small course the contenders had to run around while being chased by the Gladiators (sorta like a small eliminator.) The biggest thing they would need to correct with Gladiators is the atmosphere of the arena. The 08 Gladiators was terrible, dark lighting, with a stupidly designed eliminator course (gotta have fire to be EXTREME.) The people who recreate it need to take a look at what made it such a great thing in the 90's. Bright lights and colors and great personalities for the gladiators. Then they neeed to add some music to the events like the UK gladiators did for their 90's run. Also, put it in a larger arena and not a soundstage. That will give it a much larger appeal for fans to watch with 1000's of screaming fans which will make it feel like a larger sporting event, instead of a gameshow inside a small soundstage with a few 100 people.

It was a Bad Idea to begin with, because of how Limited they could perform as Gladiators, at least Rocket more than Jet.

jack Jackson3 It’s more about the Events that they could compete in. Rocket mostly did The Wall, but also Vertigo, Skytrack, and I think Hit & Run. Jet did almost twice as many events as Rocket did. Heck, even Zen did Gauntlet. If you also remember Season 1, we hardly saw Stealth, because she was the smallest of all the Female Gladiators at 5’2”, and 110lbs. If they were totally serious about “contenders” being Gladiators, then they should’ve had them compete against the contenders in almost all events.

@@l-wolverine2211 he not built for the bigger games your right.. def noted that some countries like south Africa and America started using my athletic males for Gladiators while the UK etc would have used muscular and bigger men only for gladiators. And they were just as quick and as fast. I think this combo was better as they could do alot more events and were more the gladiator profile . The women always were the same across the board.

jack Jackson3 That was the whole point as to why the original American Gladiators was much more successful, because of how Versatile they really were. Even Justice was so nimble on Hang Tough. It takes a lot more than just “size” to become a Gladiator. If they ever bring back AG, they should at least have some of the original cast be brought back in certain roles, and more importantly, have much more Versatile & Well-Rounded Gladiators to compete. In addition, don’t bring back Human Cannonball, Super Powerball, Rocket Ball, Side Sweep, Snap Back, & Vertigo as “events”, because they all Sucked A**. And finally, make the Eliminator much more feasible, similar from the original series, because some of the obstacles were unnecessary, like that Barrel Roll, and the Pyramid should be an Event, not an obstacle. Maybe ABC should consider reviving AG.

If they do Revive AG, the Eliminator needs another Makeover. First, the Swim could be modified, like in the Japanese Ninja Warrior, where they have a jetstream flowing backwards. Also, the Cargo Net & Platforms shouldn’t have to be that high, unless you have a Slide somewhere after that obstacle. Don’t see the point of having a Barrel Roll, as oppose to a Spinning Cylinder, which shouldn’t be going downward. Also, having the Pyramid in the Eliminator almost defeats the purpose of having it as a Gladiator Event, so I’d replace it with some other Obstacle that allows a Contender to Climb, like some Ledge Ladder, or something. The Seesaws weren’t much of an obstacle, so have some kind of Wall or Hurdle there in its place. Finally, I don’t see why there should be a rope on the Travelator/Reverse Treadmill. Other than that, it should be a big step towards a hopeful Gladiator Revival.

If they do bring back American Gladiators, just don’t have Hulk Hogan & Laila Ali as hosts, and have some New Gladiators that are Well-Rounded & Non-Limited. If there were some Gladiators to keep: Male: Titan; Wolf; Toa; Militia; Justice; Beast Female: Crush; Venom; Siren; Hellga; Phoenix; Steel All the others didn’t have much to offer.

That reboot could have been excellent. I had a couple major issues with it though. The big one being Hulk Hogan as host. I didn't mind Leila Ali because she did a fine job but Hulk is not a very good game show host. The second issue I had with it was the various rule changes for the events and I will explain those in the following list: 1.) Powerball was extended to 60 seconds from 45 seconds as it was on the original series. The game was played the same, but it just didn't feel the same. 2.) The Wall was extended to 30 feet from 20 feet as it was in the original series and that is just minor gripe. The major gripe I had with The Wall was the 7-second head start when the Contenders were given a ten-second head start in the original series. 3). Assault was also changed for the worse. In the original show the Contender had to hit a target located above the Gladiators head using five different kinds of weapons that were already loaded when he/she got to that station getting a point for every weapon fired before being hit himself/herself. The game in the reboot was played the same way, the difference however is that each weapon now had to loaded manually. So if American Gladiators is relaunched again, I just hope it looks and feels just like the original show and it's hosted by two of the Gladiators from the original show and the two I'd go with would be Jim Starr (Laser) and Raye Hollit (Zap). But Congratulations on conquering this travesty of a game show.
