Yet Rudy kumiawan proved that even the experts cant tell different between cheep and expensive wines. Only thing that makes a wine more expensive is the price itself. If a person believes its better because its old or expensive thats on them.

Agree with your comment. Taste is also subjective. Expensive wines are hyped up for marketing prestige. The whole luxury Bordeaux industry is pretentious smoke and mirrors. Considering the 1st growth producers are manufacturing upwards of 20,000 or more cases per annum, it's not even a rare commodity. It's the negociants that mark up the prices for the retail market, which is the equivalent of allowing real estate agents to set the pricing for houses. Obviously they want to make the biggest commissions, so prices are artificially inflated. On the contrary, some smaller, unknown, unclassified French wineries are only averaging 5,000 cases per annum and cost a quarter of the price. Moreover, the larger, wealthy producers or corporate owners e.g LVMH and AXA Insurance are buying out the farmers and acquiring many of the smaller vineyards and hiring the same winemakers as the top producers and incorporating their skills into them; thereby improving the quality overall. Consequently any Bordeaux wine produced from 2015 onwards is usually of fairly good standard. Arguably, lower graded brands are on par if not better than the top producers, as the technological advancements in modern wine making is able to overcome the faults of the industry in the past. Also, farmers since 2022 are now allowed to irrigate in draught affected regions. Call it cheating but there's no excuse for a bad wine year anymore. Only overpriced and over hyped wine.

The only thing i feel sorry about is that Rudy got caught. It's disgusting that people with so much money have nothing better to do then spend it on lavish wines.. and even yet, they cannot taste the difference between a good wine and a fake. What a bunch of morons. Instead of solving real issues like homelessness and poverty -- they spend it on wine. I'm glad they were scammed.
