No words can describe how lost I feel without this magnificent woman - At 60 she sang so effortlessly. She was never given her proper dues. Still, in 2020 I am in shock that she left us so quickly and quietly. She didn't get out in public and publicly talk about her cancer and her dying the whole world was caught off guard because a lady always knows when it's time to leave. RIP Donna.

Donna Summer was fully aware of her unique, very powerful voice. And on stage, she was very generous with other performers, as she showed it with these girls. She even handed her mic to one of the Idol's contestants. She knew her voice could outperform almost any other singer, female or male. As many said, her voice was an instrument.

What a treasure, one of the best voices of our time but so humble. Have you ever seen ANY singer share their microphone with another one, much less the equivalent of a background singer?! She could sing anything, won Grammys singing in 4 different genres, and was as important to dance music as she was to disco. She's been gone for a while, but I am so glad to still discover live performances of hers like this, that I've not seen before. And her microphone is ON.

Wow. That is singing. She never got her just due. Her talent was arguably above anyone of her era but she got some what pigeon holed-by disco. Her voice could soar above the hardest disco beat which made her uniquely the singer of that era. But She was so much more. Opera trained with a rich contralto up to soprano range with tinges of raunch and rock…she had it all. RIP heaven now gets your gift.

Ay my Donna, inolvidable!

Her album Crayons had just been released. The song Stamp Your Feet was the lead single at the same time as this performance. It went to #1 on the Billboard Dance Charts. Probably why she performed it even though the single sadly got very little airplay. The album did debut at #17 on the album charts shortly after this performance. The power of American Idol.
